ok so i took my NT 95 eclipse to the track on friday nite. everything was fine for the ride there, the racing, and the ride back. then aout two days later i was driving home and i went to pass this car so i drop it into third gear and pass. Then when i shifted into 4th it went physically into place but i had very little power and the RPM's would rise like i wasn't in gear. felt just like when you blow a clutch. and being a few days after a trip to the track and riding on a stock clutch thats what i figured. but when i got home and slept on it for a while i came up with nothing. so in the morning i went outside started her up and everything is fine. been driving her for a couple of days and i have no problems. clutch has never slipped or had any problems..
but...... when i'm driving (and no it isn't cold) i will go to accel. and it hesitates a bit then accels like normal. i check my airfilter and it was a lil dirty so i swapped it. maybe that will solve it. any ideas on either possible problem would be great. thanks

Sounds to me like a clutch. How many miles are on the car? It might still be the original clutch from the factory, and it would be past time for it to go out. Just because it seemed fine for a couple of days, it doesn't mean it IS fine. When mine went out I could barely get it home, then the next day it drove fine. Later on it slipped more. If yours isn't accelerating immediately, it isn't gripping the flywheel properly. If you have been going to the track running it, then that's most likely it. Goodluck :thumb:

it is a stock clutch but it is fairly new. its not slipping when i go to accel. its just like i haven't pushed the gas pedal yet. but i have. it has never slipped. just went from working great to dead and i got towed home. now its working just fine. IDK
