2G Thermostat selection?

So I'm using my 7 bolt head on my 6 bolt block. Which thermostat do I need to use? A 1g or 2g t-stat? Or does it even matter?

7 bolt t-stat. And yes 6 bolt and 7 bolt housings are different.

Which thermostat housing are you using, 1G or 2G (notice, NOT 6- or 7-bolt)? The answer to that will also be the answer to your original question.

It's a 1g housing off of a '91 talon. Are you saying that 6 bolt and all 1g 7 bolt engines have the same t-stat housings?

What I am saying is that 6-bolts and 1G 7-bolts use the same thermostat.

There may be minor differences in those thermostat housings, depending on what housings you're looking at (ASA is showing some different part numbers). However, they all bolt on the same as well so any differences are negligible, especially for your situation.
