Rebuilt with what? stock parts? stock 1G head? and which 350hp clutch? The difference in your answer can make a big price difference.

the head is a stock 1g head
the motor has been boardout and i belive has bigger pistons
not sure about the cams
the tubro was a stock 14b turn into a big28 and its no more then 5 months old sence rebuild and has no shaft play

the clutch is prefromence but i dont know what brand/type i just know it can handle 350hp and it has a flywheel but its for a AWD so i have to by a 1g flywheel cause i have a GST

also should i just buy a 1g flywheel at a partsyard or should i by a fancy new one?

man for 2,100 you can really buy a 1g awd running with more upgrades, really I wouldn't get it unless he threw in the car with a clean title, you can build a motor for less just think 6 bolt block cost 200-400 from a junk yard have it bored out new pistons rods, bearings headgasket cams and turbo you'll be spending around 1500-2000 or so for a few parts and have more then what your friends selling.

so your saying a 6bolt rebuilt would be around $1,500 alone ? to buy and have it rebuilt

i found a rebuilt motor online its a 6bolt short block for $700 and thats just the block and not counting shipping + i got to get them my block as a core charge

and i dont know how to rebuild them my self or i would be saveing alot of money

yeah i belive its a t28 i know they put a bigger turbine inside of it but it was a stock tubro at first

and + hes helping me put it in im sure if i took it to a shop it be 1000+ to install the motor

but im keeping my eye out for a use 97-99 with a 6bolt swap for a decenet price and just sell mine and add some cash to it

You can have a built engine for 2100 bucks. The stock 2g turbo is a t-25, which can be turned into a t-28. I sold an engine to buy my tsi, it was stock rebuild that I had less than $500 in, I sold it for $700 and it just put down 342whp. Personally, I wouldnt pay more than $1500 for all that, considering your getting that turbo and a good clutch( at least from what you say).

how yall doin my name is rob n im about 2 buy an auto 93gs for $500. he said its n good condition 117k miles on it has a new trans new injectors he said it mey need a new fuel pump hes not sure though. what i want to kno is what can be done performance wise. is it possible to turbo it with the auto trans? alot odpeople are telling me that its pointless to turbo a automatic and i was wandering if that was true? thank u n advance and anythought as of what i should do would b nice 2

Watch out you may get flammed for your grammer, they dont care to much for that around here.

That car will make a nice daily driver.

Honestly, the only way I would look into turbo'ing that car is if it was a complete motor swap. The transmission has nothing to do with whether or not you can modify the car. Yes you can build on this car, but I wouldn't, personally. The non-turbo block lacks oil squirters that I believe are necessary for running a turbo with future plans of even moderate modifications. If you are looking for performance, this is not the way to go, IMO, unless you have deep pockets. Hold out for a factory turbo'd car and you will be very happy you did.

Yea. I say that if you just drive you N/T around and like it, and it cost 500 bucks, let it live as long as it will as a daily driver. Then, just hunt and pick and choose your options. There are A LOT of guys who have gotten AWD Turbos for less than a thousand dollars. Granted, it usually needs a little work, they are much better platforms to start from. :thumb:

Unless thats a all out drag engine with bad a$$ internals..Than umm.NOOOOOOOO
You could buy an entire running car with mods for that.
And more than likely they would at least be able to tell you what parts are on it.
Just saying it performance doesnt mean anything.
\Its rebuilt doesnt mean anything either unless its with forged internals.
Think about it when you build an engine with stock parts what do you actually do?
Change bearings $120 for rod and main.Machine the block $150 depending on shop.
So the block 200-300 +120+150=470-570 So the you would be paying over 1400 for the top half of the engine.I know i wouldnt pay 1400 for a head,alt,intake,exhaust,t28 and a "350hp clutch"caugh caugh ebay
Just my 2 cents. If I was your friend i would sell them to you for one million gajillion dollars.Muahhhhhhhh

You do know that you need a crap load of other parts to put a 6 bolt motor in a 2G right?

I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for that, but if you are going to save money on labor and he's going to help you, you may want to get it. Get a compression check and leak down test done on the motor and find out the exact list of parts that was used to rebuilt. If it is rebuilt using all stock, you may be better off getting another working 7 bolt if your current 7 bolt is dead.

Don't be affraid to mod your car, it's a good to one to learn from. I suggest you get a Factory Service Manual. (not haynes or chilton) You can get them on CD from E-Bay for 5.00$ +S.H.
Depending on your budget the tools you have and your tech level, If you buy the car for 500.00$ you could completely rebuild the engine, Learn alot about it and have a fresh engine ready for future mods.
Unfortunatly it costs alot more to get significant power increases form a Naturaly Aspirated engine with out turboing it.
Check my vehical info for a list of my mods so far!!
