i belive the clucth is good he's not to fond of ebay he told me not to buy anything preformce wise off there cause its all junk

so im sure its a good clutch
 
What would you guys say my car is worth?

98 GST, 54K original miles, 2 owners (first female owner had it until june 2nd this year when I purchased it)

Car is a 5spd, has 4K in repairs/parts (brand new transmission, new oem clutch assembly,60K mile tune up, new turbo, new alternator) and some basic mods:

RRE/Greddy 3" SS turbo back
Metal intake w/ K&N filter
DEFI gauges
Evo IX MR shift knob


Car has no rust, very good paint, very few scratches, completely clean history, and all of its oil changes/warranty work/services are accounted for in reciepts. Mechanically perfect, body is 8.5/10, interior is 8.5/10 (slight wear on the leather, perfect otherwise)

i have a 91 fwd laser that took a shit that i was wondering what i could get for it has 137*** miles talon wing (the one that goes from the hatch to the mirror) minor dents good tires nice interior.......whatcha thinking

how much is my talon worth? i bought it for 2100. It has 200k on the body, 65k on the engine. Aem fuel rail, 560cc injectors, stock turbo i believe, apexi boost controller and safc. Drives nice, shifts decent and has no real problems accept the turbo boost late. Here are some pictures.

Was 2100 good for it? and if i was to sell it, how much should i ask for?

depending on what turbo it has, and tranny condition, 1000 is not a bad price, is the block or the head salvageable?
 
Well from the pics it looks pretty clean thats for sure.
What in the engine blew?
How mechanicaly inclined are you?Do you have the knowledge to rebuild it?
I would say its worth it.If your looking for a project.
 
ya im looking for a project i already have a DD Cobra, i can pretty much do anything mechanical, besides like boring and all the stuff that takes specialized tools.
this is what he said "piston 1 coned up and cylinder 1 needs to be bored." i dont really know what he means about coned up?
 
I have a honda shell (for sale)....i have two trade offers, which would be better to work with.....

* 95' TSI - needs oil lines/maf - has 98' front - 5sp

* 95' AWD TSI AUTO - needs turbo.

Either one will require new turbo, and probably get a front mount. Would i be better to get the auto and swap for 5 spd? I'd prefer the AWD.

Someone is trading their DSM for a honda shell or are you trading with something else? What are your goals for the DSM? I would pick the Tsi AWD. Did you do a compression test on the engine?
 
Um I thought all TSi's were AWD? I'd get the 5 spd with the 98 front end.

Nope, you can get a TSI awd or TSI fwd. I'd probably base my choice on what your goals are for the car. Personally I'd much rather drive std in a sports car, so if you are just going to do some basic bolt ons, I'd go for the fwd std. Now if you plan on making some bigger power (300+ whp) or want to run at the track, I'd go the awd route & go through the hassle of converting it to std. If you do plan on getting a good amount of power but don't plan on racing it at the track a fwd is still not bad at all for daily driving. Currently I'm right around the 350 whp range & on the street I think the cars great. I don't street race, so traction isn't really an issue (the car is also properly supported as far as traction mods, which help alot). The only part where I hate fwd is at the track, when your car runs a second or slower then it would have if it was awd. But then again there are always drag radials or slicks to make up this difference. But then again you can also get the fwd & do an awd swap as well.....
 
I say go with whichever car is in better shape.. less rust, lower miles etc. You can always convert to awd or a 5 speed so I would base it off of the condition of the shell, but thats me

I am trading a 98' Civic hatch shell for one of these two cars, well...both have been offered.

I would rather have the AWD, but I can't do auto. I also haven't found much info on a manual swap either. I am not looking to build a racecar, just a 275-300 whp car that has a/c and power options.:cool:

I am not afraid of a wrench either, i have been spinnin' wrenches quit awhile.:thumb:

They are both in stock trim, one has a TT.
 
Yup, Exactly. i want to find a 1G auto awd for a drag car, but i cant seek to find any around SoCal. And a plus about the turbo being out is you can upgrade to a 14b or a simular style bolt on turbo. Evo3 turbo with automatic, and AWD FTW!

LOL about the premium before race wars...but why do all 90-94 awd dsm all sell for 3500 no matter if they are insanely hooked up or stock LOL. Anyone else notice that.
