The 6bolt longblock w/ 60K miles is worth that alone.

First off, take it easy on me! I recently traded my 99 gst for a 02 mustang gt with 58k miles. I know, I know! I miss it like something terrible! But I have found a 98 gsx with 74k miles, completly stock, with some scratches on the paint for $9200. I test drove it everything seemed fined, but under wot around 4k rpms it would get loud as if it had no air filter in it. I checked to see, and it did have one. Anyone know what this could be? The T2small had little to no shaft play and I turned the wheel all the way left to check for c.w. symptoms, did not have any symtoms. Is there anything else I should check for? just wondering if this sounds like a good deal? And should I trade the newer mustang for it? Keep in mind this will be my daily driver for about 2 years and I dont have alot of money to sink in it right now. What you guys think?

Like infinitegsx sayd it could be and Open Air Wastegate also known as a o2 housing dump tube look to see if the housing looks stock ..

Sorry i posted to late but yeah look at the bottom of the car if you see the tube come out it could be a stock housing whit a home made dump,

just wondering they had a gsx in raleigh a month ago same color as mine only for 10k whit 70k on it it was a good deal but that thing was gone in the 1st week..

Well if the motor turns out to be in good shape then it dosen't really matter if it's older it's the same car nothing changes but you will have AWD..

..thanks man i was just messing whit you but like i sayd make sure the engine is good also take off the oil cap and try to get a look in the head see if it has like a gold color to it that would mean it had oil changes made in time good luck if you buy it i would not pass a gsx if i had the money..

I forgot to look in at the cams, but I did look under the oil cap for the milky color, it looked good and clean. I did not see any smoke at idle, while revving, or while driving. I might see if they would let me take it for a day to do a compression check on it. They said they would pull a carfax on it. They give all their cars a 3 month 3k mile warranty.

Yeah get the carfax on it and also you can do the compression test but it should be good whit only 74k make sure all the turbo pipes are not comming lose and causing the big loud intake sound you talked about..
