$2200 for a 17 year old non-running car . Seems high . Also with it being a 90 , some of the parts must be from a 90 . Ecu being one of them .
 
Well, that's exactly what I'm afraid of. I don't want to fix one issue, and then have four more pop up...or have the car completley shut down on my way to work or something stupid. Almost seems like more work than good. Perhaps I'll keep looking.
 
Ive been looking forever for a 1g dsm and think i have found a sweet deal and ride but im not sure. The car is a 92 awd turbo laser, maroon in color, cloth interior perfect and never touched, body perfect except passenger side door is scratch a little but absolutely no rust. the body has about 136,000, the engine is rebuilt 6bolt with 2g pistons and has about 15,000 to 20,000 miles on her, balanced shafts removed, it has brand new 16g turbo, 3 inch stainless steel exhaust, header, also the tranny and rear end were flushed, new cv joints all around and 2g chrome rims. hes asking 3000.

and it was just tuned by a shop and runs perfect, im not sure about fuel mods but will no tonight. and no grinds
 
A kid i just met is selling his 98 gs-t with 81,000 miles on it. He gave me a list of mods he's done. They included HKS turbo timer, Greddy Boost controller, Apexi AFC Neo, HKS BOV, Greddy 18g Turbo kit @ 20 psi, Greddy intake, Tubular exhaust manifold, 3" O2 housing, 3" downpipe, 3" Greddy Cat back, ACT 2600, Front Mount intercooler with all hardpipes, 255 lph fuel pump, 550cc injectors, Aeromotive fuelpressure regulator with gauge, and a lot of other cosmetic stuff. The kids dad said that he runs 14's, but the kid said he went to the track, but never ran it. I forgot to ask if he knew how much HP he's putting down. He also said it wasn't tuned. He is asking $10,500. I was strongly thinking about buying it. I'm just looking for any input and/or second opinions. Thanks.
 
$10,500 seems like a very high price to me. And it only runs 14's? Something is definitely wrong then.
 
I don't think I would buy it. It blue books for about $6k, so you are looking at buying the car for $4,500 over book value. I would have to say that there isn't $4,500 in mods there and it isn't worth the extra money.

But if you do get it, make sure you get gap insurance throught your lender, because you are going to need it being at 175% of the value.

I would buy something like this and mod it myself. That way you know everything was done properly. Can you tell I'm partial to the Spyder :)
 
18G @ 20 psi should run 14's LOL, my non-turbo Ford Focus does that. I'd guess maybe a vague 300whp for the HP/TQ (give or take, dyno it and find out), and as far as the price I think 10500 is steep. It is hard to buy a car for $X and put $Y into it and expect to get $X+$Y. I wouldn't pay much more than book value unless it is "worth" it to you personally.

I agree that 14's sounds a little fishy for that level of modification. My personal opinion is to be selective, see if you can find something unmodified. Maybe see if you can find an AWD and test drive it before you decide.

I would pay that for it. I don't really like buying a pre-modded car but if everything checks out on it than I would say go for it, as long as its not Ebay parts on it.

Trust me i really want a stock 1g but have been looking for 2 years for anything and this is the first one in good condition under 5,000$. Thanks for the comment. Does anybody else have an opinion?

This is a 95 GST. Its got 140,000 on the body no rust at all.... From texas and has a 80k motor and trans in it. It is also in primer. Now to the bad the head gasket blew on this car. They tried to fix it and everything but basically gave up. So it has low compression in 1 cylinder and is missing bolts to the heads and isnt tighten all the way which might be the problem.

Overall I am guessing going to need new motor. O and they only want 500 dollars. If worst comes to worst I think I can part it out for more.

hey guys, i found another car that i'm thinking about buying. After school tomorow i'm gonna take it for a test drive and possibly trade in my truck for it.

i hope it's a good buy, i'm not looking for a turbo one, cause i just need a good commuter car for my 30mi drive to school and work, just thinking about keeping it stock, maybe get better rims or a better sound system later on. Just something i can use as a daily drive and put regular unleaded gas in.

I've built a 6 bolt before for a buddy and I would have no problem doing again. I just wanted to see if it was worth it. here's the stuff that comes with it. Apexi 2.5" catless turbo back, DNP tubular ex. man., EVO III big 16g ported and modded, Extreme PSI upper intercooler piping, Extreme PSI intake w/K&N, Apexi SAFCII, ACT 2100 clutch, fidanza flywheel, balance shafts removed, emissions stuff removed, Eibach springs, 17" BSA wheels with almost new ventus tires, its bored .020 over (but might need to bo bored more since he blew it), polished and balanced crank, ARP rod bolts &head studs, Prothane motor mounts, FIC 650s, Walbro 255.

The motor only had like 2k on it when he blew it. He wants 3k for EVERYTHING. I don't know, I could use some advice.

Greddy boost controller and turbo timer.
Custom intake and 2.5" exhaust
KYB struts and shocks lowered 2.5" on Eibach springs
HKS BOV
Blitz boost gauge
Alpine radio and speakers.

what do you think its worth? $$$$

Since your in Illinois I'd say around 6,000.

There is a 93 or 94 TSI AWD up the street from me. I looked at the outside and it looked pretty good, no fading on the roof, and it has no chippin around the windows like i have seen on alot of Talons. I havent got to look inside, but front lookin in the window I can tell it is manual, and there are spare parts in the back seat/trunk. I will get back with how many miles it has, but what do yall think this is worth?
 
The kind of parts in the back seat will tell you some and does the car look like it hasn't been driven in a while?
 
Ya, she has had it for awhile. Her brother lives in Denver and she stores it for him. He is back for Thanksgiving so I might be able to find out more about it. I think that most the parts are spares or interior parts.
 
Hey guys, i found a prestine 1991 Eagle Talon TSi AWD 5 speed with 81,000 ORIGINAL MILES. He just Recently changed within the last 1000 miles, Timing belt, balance shaft belt, Water pump, Trans, t-case, rear(lsd) fluids, Tires, Battery, Brake pads, Air filter, Also has aftermarket POWER sunroof (doesnt leak). And it is all stock, never tampered with. He wants $5000 for it. What do you guys think? Thanks
