That sounds like a great deal. Just because the head is rebuilt doesn't mean it will break down. That makes no sense. Even if the motor was dead I would still buy it and put a built motor in it.
That would be something I would personally jump on. If you do decide to get it, do a compression and leak down test and go from there.
Edit: One thing to note is that it is an automatic transmisson. If you don't mind that then, call the guy and try to get more information. Ask how it was maintained and for a list of any current problems. If that car isn't what you want, search the classifieds.
