Hey all, I'm new to the dsm world, had mine about a week now and try'n to get everything fixed and running right. I've got most of the little bugs worked out from it sitting for the past 2 years. Except when the car warms up and the temp needle is almost straight up and down it usually misses once, then fires again, then just dies. It won't start back up right away but if you wait a few minutes it will fire right back up for a few minutes until it gets warm again. Right now the radiator fans don't work because the nimrod who owned it before me TRIED to rewire them(without much luck obviously) is there anything to do with this wiring that would cause it to stall like this? I'm goin to get a new radiator fan soon, because when messing with the wiring he burnt up both of the fans, or mabye he was rewiring them because they stoped working, haven't decided how i'm going to wire up the new fans yet, any suggestions on that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help you guys can give!

it could be shorting out when the fans try to kick on.they usually turn on when the needle is about striaght up on mine.right around 200* i think.could be other problems too, like my ecu caps were bad.it acted goofy on startup then was fine.

update: Finaly got most of the other stuff on the car worked out and got tags and plates took it out for the first time tonight. Fans work fine, kick on when it gets up to temp, and i drove it for about half an hour off and on, then it started acting up, driving through town the check engine light came on, and it missed and sputtered a few times then the light went off and ran fine, then it just started missing like crazy and eventually dying. When it dies the boost gauge goes all the way down below -7, after letting it sit for 20mins to half an hour with the hood open the boost gauge jumps back up to 0 and it will fire up fine and run for about 10 minutes until it starts all over again.. Car runs great when it runs, but it keeps dying, any clues?

id check the caps on the ecu.just take out the ecu, open it,and smell/look at the caps in it.youll know right away.

Thanks, ECU caps are DEFIANTLY leaking, below the 2 larger caps inbetween the 3 card looking things is all discolored and has defiantly had soemthing leaking on to them. Anybody know anyone in the Zanesville area that can fix ecu's? or any other suggestions i'd prefer to not ship it out if possible for fear of it being screwed up in shipping? thanks guys

LOL,look where i live.ive already changed mine since they leaked a while back.its not too bad really to change em out.
