The car runs just fine when I start it up. Idle is nice and stable, no idle surge or anything.

Once it warms up the idle will be normal and then just fall on it's face. The ECU tries to save it and sometimes does but sometimes it can't.

I suspect this is a closed loop situation. Looks like it is running rich (black smoke from the tailpipe) and my wideband reads 10-11:1 when this is happening. If I give it some gas, and hold it at part throttle at say 4k rpm I get 14.7:1.

My Innovate LC-1 wideband is in the stock location. It is also setup to simulate an analog output.

I suspect that the wideband has gone bad but not sure. Runs perfect until it warms up. No idle surge BS. Vacuum is nice around 21hg.

I just got done with a turbo swap and noticed this problem started right before I replaced the turbo.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Have you run a log to see if the narrow sim is still cycling once warmed up? The wideband reading and black exhaust sound like they match up though, so I wouldn't really suspect that. Take a look at MAF Hz, coolant temp, TPS, and see if anything is out of the ordinary. I don't remember if MMCd shows it, but I would check the idle switch too just to be sure. IIRC MAF Hz should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-50 Hz at idle.

More like open loop since something isn't right. Closed loop means normal operation - green status.

You halfway answered your own question: the wideband contraption might have gone bad. Only way to find out is to take it "out of the loop".

Fancy gadgets - are they worth it?

Mine has the same issue when im driving or sitting after a while my rpms just crash and dies on me. if i press on the throttle right when it does it it stays on. now mine isnt a turbo but is showing similar symptoms minus the black smoke.

Ended up being a few plug wires that are coming loose for some reason...hope the spark plug seals aren't shot.
