I purchased main bearings, including thrust bearings, M136A 15H19A sizeSTD made by TAIHO in Japan for my pre-April 1992 6bolt 4g63. It turns out these bearings which NAPA lists as suitable for my block are too narrow. They are 0.840" wide as opposed 0.975" which is the size I need. My old thrust bearings are stamped A17X 2AF. These TAIHO thrust bearings are stamped 5F27 STD 1.
Furthermore, the new TAIHO main bearings are 0.805" wide as opposed 0.910" which is what my old ones are. The TAIHO bearings are stamped as EH 171 STD. My old ones are A17X.
I am taking these TAIHO bearings back, of course, however, a cursory search on this forum regarding width of bearings is this one, and that does not help:
thrust bearing fits block NOT in cap.

Web search is useless, goes to some russian sites and TAIHO catalog which requires membership:

Any idea what I am dealing with and how I should instruct NAPA to get the proper size bearings? What 4g63 block are these skinny bearings for anyway...?

Edit: perhaps somebody here can chime in and explain why there are different sizes for the 1992 4g63. The bearings I need and am ordering are MB 524AM
but there are other sizes as well, i.e. CR4481AM
as can be seen here:
