So I tore my engine down after some issues I had with it and when I received my new main bearing set, I only had 2 thrust bearings in the box, for my 98 block. Whereas the machinist who assembled my engine had 3 bearings installed. I don't see any info ANYWHERE that 3 are used. Am I missing something? If I need another one, I wouldn't even know what to order. Video just to clarify what I'm talking about.

I realize there's a main bearing and 2 side pieces. But if you watch my video, you'll see there's a piece on the very back of the block. I was told that shouldn't be there.

That's what came off when I disassembled my engine. Darren from FFWD told me it's not suppose to be there but just wanting to verify. I've had a bunch of issues with the assembly that the machinist on this board did and trying to verify if in fact it's suppose to have that rear one there or not.

Is it possible to be a shim for crank end play really strange. I'm going outside to look at my 98 block and see if it has those k. It doesn't have them. Mines out of a 98 Talon.

Could it be one of those proprietary "crankwalk" fixes?

I dunno but I'm really irritated. Bogussvo did the work and it's been one headache after another. The engine was completely stock before having it built and spending a LOT of money. Only to last 150 miles after all my bearings were beat to heck cause the balance was off so bad, clearancing wasn't done enough and one of my rods hit the side of the cylinder walls, none of the valves in the cylinder head would seal, etc. etc. Then having to figure this out and wasn't told of any modifications to the block like this. After all the money I'm having to spend to get everything fixed, I'm just beyond irritated.

That looks like onebof thoes assumed crank walk fixes, if i were you id get a new block and transfer over the pistons, rods and get another crank just in case the one you have was cut to fit that third bearing

I feel you should link your link fourms review over here so these good people can see what you have been dealing with. It's astonishing....

This engine never had crankwalk so not sure why this would be done, and you'd think that if this was a modification done to the block, that I would've been informed. It was a completely stock block with stock internals. Having another machinist locally to check measurements but I'm gonna do the assembly myself this go around.

As far as linking the other thread, I think I'll leave that one as is because if people don't want their opinions made public, I'm not gonna let it be known and that forum is more private than this one and not everyone can get on it. However, if people wanna post up opinions or experiences on here they can feel free. I know I'm having my fair share of problems and lots of hard earned money coming out of my wallet to not only pay for the 1st round of having it built, but again to cover the 2nd round build because of all the issues I've had and stressed to the max.

That is one of the theoretical crankwalk fixes. The rear thrust surface is clearanced with the center main thrust. This in turn gives more cushion for acting thrust forces. It shouldnt hurt anything to leave it in as long as the clearance is set the same as the center main. If you leave it out, remove the locating dowels.

Here is the thread documenting the mod.

Thanks for that reply. At least now I know what was done, but would've been nice to know about in advance.

And I have no issues if he wants to put in his 2 cents. Probably best if he doesn't though. Been trying to keep my mouth shut for the most part on this forum. My comments aren't gonna go any further unless he has something he wants to add or dispute.

I think reviews are a good thing, it gives information to the consumer, and with said information, they can make an edicated dicision, as I'm sire you would have if you had known the enviorment in which yiur motor and parts were worked on. Not to mention the unauthorized, "extra" work you have found out about the hard way.

I also dont think wisemen should be screwing up other peoples motors...and if they did, to step up and make it right to the customer

I agree. However the only way he'd be able to make it right with me is to pay for all the cost involved to get this thing straight (over $1000 and counting, cause I'm still not done yet). And I know that's not gonna happen. He did offer for me to take it over for him to check out, but after seeing everything that was wrong with it, lack of communication, flat out ignoring me after the first time, and more, I decided against it.

When I put it back together, if anything messes up, I won't have anyone else to blame but myself. Best believe that I'm going over everything a gazillion times to make sure it's right.

If you're talking about Bogus, he does a mod where he adds another thrust washer to back of the block iirc. I can't find the thread. He should have mentioned that to you if he was going to do it.

Hey Urban, I finally wrote a nice long review. Got deleted in 5 or 10 minutes. I apparently should've posted in it the "Vendor Review" section but posted in the wrong section. Figured it would've been moved to the appropriate section, but was deleted instead. Oh well. Not writing it all out again. It was a lot. Guess everyone's gonna have to take their chances using him. Good news for him and his business I guess...

Edit: Just realized you can't even post a review anywhere (that I can tell). So if anyone such as a wiseman screws up your motor and does horrible business and rips people off, it's fair game for the person that rips you off. Not sure how we're suppose to look out for each other. <shrug>

I got through half of it, shady people in jankey shopsnshould not be wisemen. Sorry..

Hes not a vendor either so where could you review. This site needs some rule changes for this. You can also give him bad trade feed back

    Wow this is pretty surprising.

What were the alleged improper clearances?
How did you know the crank was unbalanced?

I'd like to know more details and see some pictures of the damage.

This is fairly surprising as I've never seen poor work come from the guy.

I posted a pretty lengthy review last night. Being that it got deleted versus being moved, I'm not doing all that again, just for it to get deleted....again. All I'll say is this. Here's his shop:
    https://www.google.com/maps/@30.435...ata=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1swh1HclcCnddNRTPWSJw0Sw!2e0

Here's just one post of the many I found before he started dealing with Dsm's.
    http://forum.turboford.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=000784#000000

And I know my crank was out of balance cause I sent it back to Darren at FFWD who showed me the video he took of it on the balancer and said it was the worst he's ever seen and wondered why Dale grinded my counter balance and took off some of the Vader coating, since it was balanced when he shipped it out to me.

There's apparently nowhere to post reviews so I'm sure no one can really say anything bad, yet on Facebook I've had numerous people tell me the same stories. This post here may get deleted as well since I'm already breaking the rules. Who knows. No one ever wants to believe me though for some reason. That's fine. It's their engine, and their money.

While I'm at it, here's my post I originally wasn't gonna post on here, from the Ecmlink forums. Some changes need to be made about the rules as far as being able to warn people though.

Just my 2 cents, I've got to read the review that he posted before it got deleted, and WOW did he get screwed! A lot of money was spent to get the parts he wanted plus get them assembled. To only receive the wrong flywheel and clutch parts that weren't in sync with the balanced crank and it destroyed everything. My opinion since you decided not to have him redo the work (completely understandable), he should refund all the money plus pay for all parts that were destroyed in the process. Now I've read that he does great work at the same time, but this was a definite mess up that should be handled respectfully with some way to make it right. Op sucks about the whole situation and the money that was lost and time wasted.
