I know the 98-99 7 bolts have the thrust washer and the older ones have the flange bearing(or the other way around, idk).

But is there actully a picture of the two style bearings so I can be sure of what I got. Or is the other style way different? It looks like a regular thrust bearing to me. I'm working on a 98 gst spyder by the way

IS the thrust bearing/main bearing connected or are the thrust bearings separate from the main bearing?

The search button and google work real good.

You have an early 2g block then. You apparently don't have the same google that i do. It took 5 seconds to find that picture.

That would be called a Saddle thrust bearing, all being one piece.

The other style is called a split thrust bearing, or thrust washers.

As mentioned, sounds like you have the one piece, or the non revised 98-99 split thrust. While 98 model year awds & even some very late 97's, seemed to have the revised split thrust design, I have seen several fwd model year 98's that have the non revised design (myself included). Seems like Mitsu used up the non revised blocks in the fwd models.
