tach stopped working

I was sitting at idle and all the sudden my tach just dropped to 0 rpm and it now stays there. Once in a while if I step on the gas for a long time it slowly rises a tad but falls right back down. On my logger the rpms say 850 although my tach says 0. Is this a coilpack issue or something wrong with the cluster?

this happened on my car a few times but it eventually came back on.


Im not sure what exactly does it, but if the logger reads ok maybe something connecting to the gauge isnt in all the way?

well mine came back on today but then I started having sputtering problems in upper rpms at wot. Later during the day it stopped working again. I then swapped the coilpacks with another pair and still same problem. I then pulled off my power transistor and found 2 of the terminals to have some corrosion on them. I scraped them clean with a small screwdriver and the tach worked again. Maybe that's what it was?

could be, maybe I should check mine.....I procrastinate to much though.

well scraping off the corossion fixed my wot sputter and my tach as well. Hopefully that's all it was.
