Speedometer stopped working

Well, today I replaced my valve cover because I painted one that I had bought. In the process I changed my plugs and wires.

When I put everything back on (didn't use a torque wrench, I got them snug then turned the socket about 1/4 of a turn) There was a minor leak where the bolt is under the coil pack, I noticed steam/smoke when I was driving to class and when I parked I inspected under the hood.

There was oil dripping on the ground. nothing toooo major but is an oil leak minor at all? any how, the speedometer was working fine when I drove to class and parked.

I noticed driving home the speedometer stopped working..hmmm, I thought maybe because I did the led conversion on my instrument cluster maybe a bump knocked it off the pin. (the needle is still on the pin but not registering my speed)

Me not knowing where the speed sensor is I then thought maybe the oil that was leaking maybe shorted it out or something.

Any suggestions on the problem ?

It is related to the speed sensor on the transmissions which is held into the tranny by a 10mm bolt. Typically, the clip for the sensor breaks like mine did so every time i launch or shift at 7k, the sensor vibrates off and my car goes in 2 step mode . You may have leaked oil onto the sensor and ruined it, i recommend testing it and if that be the culprit, source one via junkyard or classifieds
/e also it is located directly below the throttle body so thats how i suspect it being bad, oil can easily leak onto and contaminate it

In my owners manual would the Throttle position sensor be the same thing as the speed sensor?

Oh and on a side not sometimes my rpms when coming to a stop like to drop down to around 200 and sometimes even turn my car off. mostly when im in start/stop traffic. would the IAC be the culprit?

And how would I go about testing it, do I need an ohm meter?

I took a picture of where the oil leaked on to, I don't know how clear it is, but this is right behind the coil back and under the throttle cable. you can see the fresh oil on the bracket and the wires.

are either one of those wires the speed sensor?
