1.10 a/r? That is neither a T3 or a T4 option from turbonetics. So, when these units are bolted up in their natural use (i.e. truck/tractor), what turbine housing do they usually come with? Closest option is a T4 tangential/divided housing with a 1.15 a/r. That would be one hell of a hot side that's mated to a dinky little cold side.

And I don't feel like reading through 39 pages to find out what turbine wheel this turbo comes with.

I went and checked and it the stock turbine housing off the Vtrim is the T4 1.15 a/r. What you have to remember is that those big turbine housings are used in diesel applications that have high exhaust energy unlike gas motors. So they need that larger A/r housings.

The turbine must be the same that have been on my AGP turbo's which have both had the T-31 wheel/stage 3. I have my new RS60T here not yet installed and can get some figures, might even have the inducer/exducer numbers here somewhere. Mark

Well Bullseye sent me the turbo to 02 housing gasket and did not charge for shipping and they used a postal service mailer for $1.08 instead of the $8+ ups charge for the first gasket I got. Thanks. Now I need the little gasket that goes between the turbo and oil return, what to do??? Mark

RTV = smokin turbo. When you tighten down the flange it squeezes the RTV into the oil drain and restircts the flow. Make your own paper gasket or order one from www.theturbotrader.com

The turbotrader looks like Bullseye's little sister! I had to ask how a $1. item would be sent!! Mark

Yeah, most parts stores and hardware stores sell the sheets of "make your own gasket". It like thin compressed tagboard..... It worked well when I had my 14b and it's only a couple bucks. :thumb:

Sweet i have an extra one, if you want i could send it to you, i'll put it in a regular letter envelope. Or go to your local autoparts and get some gasket paper and make it.

Yeah, they buy from us and we buy the oil lines from them. They can ship USPS as well. I still think it would be better overall to make one like 99gst said.

We have never used, tested or sold -3 oil lines. However, I've been told they can be used in lengths of 24 inches or less. I'm not even sure you would even need a restrictor with a -3 line.

Ben at AGP said high oil pressure doe not hurt seals. All just a myth. He went on to say that there was no "seal" to blow but a ring at the end of a shaft.
Hey Miami, I'd rather pick up that gasket in person, I'd like to get out of Syracuse area anyways!! Thanks, Mark
PS: I'll send the flange and a dozen sheets of gasket paper to a local kindergarten, probably o better than me!

Quick update on where I am with my Vtrim turbo:

Got most of the leaks fixed, still a pinhole somewhere in the IC piping. The car is tuned for street manners and mild boost so far. Finding and fixing problems as I dig in to this deper. Things like spark blowout, fuel/air ratios, etc. I am working on the higher RPMs now.

Spool-up is now 10 PSI at 3000 and 14 PSI at 3400. I have the comp outlet routed back into the wastegate actuator for now = 14 PSI max boost. So 14 PSI is the minimum boost on HP actuator when it is tightened 2 turns past closing the wastegate. Based on what I've seen, 28 PSI would be the max boost on this actuator.

At 6000 RPM (14 PSI) I have already acheived ~ 28 lb/min. This was with the mix going way lean and I had to let off. The car was pulling very hard. The turbo was barely working up a spool. However, it did sound sweet.

So, I am feeling pretty good about what's happening and I am confident that I can get to 350 HP in a couple days now.

Cool, I should be getting mine tommorrow. Dave is very helpful in helping deciding what's best for a given setup.

I have a custom ported 95 O2 housing to match the 2.5" opening on my 3" downpipe, and the opening of my old Evo 16g. Would upgrading to a 2.5" custom tubular o2 (i.e. Punishment) net me any gains, or would it be minimal? I'd rather spend the $150 on helping me get the FP2's or HK$'s sooner. Anyway, I'm excited to get mine as well, and will be doing a picture write up/install.

i just finished my water injection, just gotta find a place that sells methanol now, LOL

I am finally getting enough parts on my 97 GST Spyder to beging to get it dialed in. I really do like the T04B I bought from Dave and as in previous posts he was also great in giving me advice on the what went with what.

To date I have installed

K&N FIPK
Injen intake
T04B internal wastegate
Injen Hi Low MBC
650 injectors
255 HP Walpro
S AFC II
(waiting on a 3" turbo back exhaust from R n R Racing)

Driving it now with the stock exhaust this turbo pulls very strong and I have some modified SRT 4s here at my disposal to compare it to. Tuning at this point is next to impossible so I am running it really rich and by some instuctions off the roadraceengineering web site. If what I am experiencing now is just the tip of the iceberg (pre exhaust) I have to bullseye for having an impressive turbo. I have found a dyno to tune to once I get the exhaust and I will submit the results to Dave and to this group as well. Heck, at this rate I may get froggy and start doing some internal mods LOL...
