I want to know if it is logical to swap my 420a for a 4g63 motor. The 4g63 is non turbo but I plan on boosting it later. Also will my manual tranny bolt up to this motor. Any suggestions.

BAD IDEA!! VERY bad idea, first of all going to the hassle of swaping a 420a for a 4g63 is nearly pointless and would cost much more than simply purchasing a 4g63 car, although it has been done i would definately say it is not logical or efficient.. and also boosting a N/A 4g63 brings about a ton of problems of its own- my advice to you after being in the DSM seen for a number of years - and owning quite a few of these cars - is to sell your 420a (or keep it as a daily driver) and start out with a car that was meant to be modified and can stand the things you desire to do with it - as always just my .02

Thats the point I am only buying the car for a hundred bucks. What kind of problems am I looking at. And why is it so hard to boost a 420a motor. If i do decied to do the swap will I have to bail on my manual tranny? Any help greatlt appreciated!

If you're getting a great deal on the car and you really feel the need for boost, there's a lot of guys boosting the 420a motor. You can only run 7-8psi on the stock internals and there are some quirks you have to get around, but it's been done enough. Head over to forums.2gnt.com There's plenty of guys over there that have done it and would be more than willing to help. Just make sure you do some searching to answer most of your questions before you start posting. Good luck!

turbo your 420a you won't regret it. i would get a kit with a turbo bigger then the t25 though there pretty small 14b or t3 would do more for the car.:laser:

Please use the search function. Search "4g63 swap" and dig through a couple pages. You'll quickly find all the answers to your questions about the swap, including why you shouldn't do it.

It would be cheaper and easier to sell that car and then use the money toward a 4g63 powered dsm.....
