Okay, so I have a 96 TSI AWD, she isn't in the greatest shape but has been my dream car ever since I can remember. She looks great from the outside but she is overly rusty underneath and above on the strut towers. Nonetheless it's just a daily and gets around fine. I've got too many new parts into her to just let it go because of the rust, so here I am again needing just a few last things to finish her up.

First thing is first, I came across a 99 Eclipse GS for $100 bucks, runs, drives, and is in great shape, except for the fact that the sleeve that's welded to the body that holds the upper control arm in place has rusted off. It was welded, but I don't trust it going down the road as is, so i'm just going to snag what I want off it and part it out.

My biggest concern is the sunroof, I'm not sure what is wrong with my Talon, but for whatever reason it never wants to close without some force. Are the sunroofs interchangeable from the 99 GS to a 96 TSI AWD? How does everyone go about measuring the high rise spoiler to fit onto their Talon hatch? And lastly, is there anything else on the GS that's worth keeping for myself? Keep in mind, this was a buddies car, i know everything about the car and I did all the work to it before the welding. I'm only really interested in the sunroof and the spoiler, then of course i'll snag the tires, but if there is anything else that you can think of, I would appreciate it!

As long as they are both oem sunroof units that are motorized, they're interchangeable. As for the wing, I have one I may end up putting on my spyder. Just line it up on your trunk lid, and make sure it's even side to side, and front to back.

Yeah, they are both oem sunroofs and motorized, I was pretty sure it would fit, but I wanted to make sure before I started tearing apart my mint interior. Do you think I could just measure everything on the Eclipse and line it up that way?

Yeah, it's something that I need to do, i'm just trying to work up the motivation. I have a broken leg and can't get around whatsoever really, so it makes it tough. I just feel like there has to be something else on the car that's worth keeping, you know?
