I have been tring to find a good wiring diagram for the stage 3 tmo/dsm chips stutter box. The dsmchips.com website has a link to tmo bt I cant find anthing there. Does anybody have a good link. All the links on tuners are to the tmo main page and I just cant find it.

The clutch wire for a TMO chip or DSMChip with NTLS runs from the clutch safety switch (CSS) to ECU pin 104.

If you want to retain the CSS function you have to cut the green wire and install a diode. On the end running to the switch attach the wire from ECU pin 104 and connect the cathode of a 4001 diode (banded end). Attach the other end of the green wire (from the car harness) to the anode of the diode.

If you don't want the CSS function just cut the green wire and connect the wire from ECU pin 104 to the end going to the switch and insulate the other end of the green wire.

Technical Details follow

The CSS connects the green wire to ground when the clutch is out. This is normally used to ground the coil in the starter relay and break the connection between the ignition switch and the starter solenoid if the clutch is out.

The ignition switch provides 12v to the green wire when the ignition switch is in the start position and grounds it the rest of the time. This causes issues once you connect anything else.

The ECU pulls up pin 104 with a resistor to 12v and monitors to see if the input is high or low. If you connect pin 104 to the CSS without the diode in the CSS wire the ECU will always see the input pulled low because either the ignition switch is grounding it or the CSS is.

The diode blocks current from the ECU going back to the ignition switch ground pulling the input low and keeping the CSS from ever being seen.

So all you need is a 4001 diode from Radio Shack and some wire.

Thats funny. My car has auto start and I have that witch unplugged. So If I want to continue to use my autostart and get my studder box to work I should just connect the switch to ecu pin 4 with no radio shack diode?

If you use the connector you have to cut the green wire going into the car harness to disconnect the ignition switch from the CSS and then connect ECU pin 104 to the switch.

So I got one of your chips, to activate this I would do the same thing for the wire right?

I don't need a diode if I don't want CSS. Just connect the green wire to pin 104 right?

I don't understand which wire it is exactly...

Thanks for any help!
