Since my cars down and out for a few weeks there is no better time than the present to knock out a few things on the "to-do" list. I borrowed an air compressor and a die grinder from good DSM buddies, then I went to a local tool depot to get a carbide bit and some eye/ear/face protection. The end result was sweet, all the work getting there was terrible and now I wish I would have just gotten the JDM Galant knuckles! Too late now, so onto the pictures...

Stay tuned for the master cylinder install and pictures of the car when its back on its wheels again.

Hours of grinding and fitting, along with not knowing the integrity of my front knuckle anymore, makes me wish I had forked over the cash for the Galant knuckles. You can see how much "meat" I had to remove from them to get the bracket to fit. To canter the caliper down doesn't require as much grinding, I just felt that it looked tacky. I'll post pictures of it angled down too so you can see the difference.

Yikes! I don't know about all of that grinding, I would have mounted them in the downward position. But even that requires quite a bit of grinding on 2gb knuckles.

I never did mount mine because of clearance issues with my OZ wheels. But I agree, if I was to try it again, it would be with the JDM knuckles.

Looks great though!

Oh, did you get those brackets plated or is KMV shipping them like that now?

Eeek... I know you put a lot of time and effort into that. But, in all honesty, I wouldn't run those knuckles any more. You just created a huge stress point where there normally wasn't one.

I gotta figure out if my Galant knuckles will bolt on to a Colt.
