my brother had to go and use a non-deep well socket on one of my strut towers causing it to round, so yea, kinda stuck atm, but about to go and get an extraction kit.

Well beat a 6pt deep well onto that nut, and got her loose. The ebrake cables are loosed from the cabin, rear end is pretty much ready to drop out. I don't know if the rear diff can be dropped w/o the entire subframe. I need to go research that and find out. Certainly would make the whole drop thing less difficult.

oh wells, that's it for today, going to do some fluid mechanics homework and then maybe get some more wrenching in on it tonight.

Fluid Mechanics...nice, I just took that last semester.
Go ME!

Thats a "semi custom" cover. There's a guy on the ECM/DSMLink boards thats currently producing 2g versions & in the future will be making a 1g version as well.

Nice looking setup, was thinking about maybe stepping up my rear cover as well. Not sure if you can drop the rear diff without the subframe, if it can be done, it would be extremely tight & IIRC correctly you won't be able to use a torque wrench to install the diff. Probably easier to drop the subframe in the long run.

2 on the top of each strut to the strut tower, 4 bolts that connect the upper wishbones to the chassis, 1 bolt on each side that connect the front control arm, disconnected the ebrake cables from the cabin (requires taking out the console and the airbag ECU to get to, then feeding them through the rear bench).

Finally the 4 rear subframe nuts, and everything just drops out as one big piece.

(I took off my brakes and rotors as a precaution, I don't want those things getting damaged)

Hey, that looks familiar. ;)

Get ahold of Andrew if you haven't already (I think I saw your post about it, though); he's re-doing the posts on mine. If you didn't do a side-by-side comparison with the old cover, the main posts are about 3/8" (1cm) too short, at least on my car.

those bushings are fun to beat in arent they! good luck with everything. its about time you put those bushings in though you bought those from me months ago
