What do our cars(2gen) come with for stock hp? I always thought it was about 210 or 215...but i seen that a guy had his dynoed and it was only 188 with some mods.

they come with 210 stock from the factory but keep in mind that our cars arn't exactly new so i am assuming that guys engine wasn't in the best of shape if he pulled that even with mods either that or he had boost leaks possibly

It was advertised as about 210hp. You have to remember, though, that for marketing purposes, those are probably liberal estimates.

Also, if it was dynoed, that 188 was probably whp, as opposed to at the crank (which is what the stock estimates are). Because of the various forces working against power transfer, horsepower at the wheels will always be lower than horsepower at the crank.

If anything else, eight year old cars also tend to lose a little power over the years.

THey are rated at 210 from the factory, but that is at the flywheel. When you dyno a car you have to factor in the drivetrain loss so the number will be lower.

LOL he beat me too it

i still can't believe my 95 gsx still has compression in 170's across the board when they came with 178 compression new :thumb:

i believe that would be for the tsi/gsx

i'm sure your gst's prabably put out a little more at the wheels

True, but not much more. to say 170 whp on a GS-T would be pushing it though.
