stock bov release in neutral?

hi well i was just wondering. why doesnt the turbo spool in neutral?? i was told it does and i have heard cars rev there engines and have their bov release. but i jus tried it for fun in mine i revved it to about 5k and let off and i got nothing close to the sound like when i shift. My boost gauge does not go above 0 in neutral so i know im not getting any pressure for it to release.

So my question is is this normal cuz im jus wonderin?

Well, I *BELIEVE* that your turbo does not spool at all when you neutral rev it, BUT the BOV is still relieving any back pressure, therefore your BOV is still making a noise.

I've tried that too.

I've heard my friends 2G's do it, but i was told that the 1's won't because they have the 14b which is a bigger turbo, so its harder to spool, my buddy will get boost in nuetral on his T-25

well i just dont get it i tried it again today i put the pedal to the floor went to about 5k and half and let off nothing, no sound at all. i wasnt really paying attention to the gauge to see if it would go over 0 but i didnt get a sound. Its really not a big deal im just wondering why other people can do it but not me

Not much but I get 1-3 psi for a split second THEN my 1G BOV vents.

The reason you can't build boost by revving your engine is you can't put enough load on it to spool the turbo.

The 1-3 psi I get is just a tiny bit of positive pressure.

Do you still have the stock airbox?

A open element air filter makes the sound quite exaggerated.

yea i dunno mines just messed up. no i have a k&n air filter and when i shift it sounds amazing it just doesnt want to at neutral beats me??

the engine must be under load for the turbo to spool.

even my t25 only hits maybe 3-4lbs in neutral. try keeping it at 5k, then punch it to 6.5k and see if it builds boost, thats how i get mine to make noise at a light, all dominick turetto style.
