alright well i have installed my autometer boost gauge and maybe it has always been like this but now whenever i release my foot off the pedal going fast the bov chirps like it used to do only when i would put in the clutch and shift. so now whenever i let my foot off the pedal under high rpms the vac drops to -17 just like as if i was putting in my clutch. somebody please help me

idle vac -17 max psi 12

should i disconnect it for now is it dangerous????? it looks like its reading fine somebody help

If you let completely off the gas pedal... you will not be pressurizing the intake any longer. Hence why you are getting a vacuum reading.

yes i know that but im jsut saying i think before i installed the boost gauge when i let off the pedal at high rpms it would just decelerate slowly. now instead the bov squeaks just as it did when i would shift gears at high rpms. it could always have been like this im just noticing it now

thats what its supposed to do. when you release the throttle it closes the throttle body then the pressure of the air left in the intercooler pipes escapes through the blow off valve.

just thought i would chime in and reinforce ^^^^^.

Actually when you leave the car in gear and just let off the gas completely the bov should open faster and with more force. This is due to the car dragging the engine along and creating more vacume.

However you should be pulling well over 20 in Hg when you have the car in gear and foot off the gas at any decent RPMs.
