hi
alright, i got the ssac header and it came with: 2-long bolts to connect the header with the downpipe....8-lock washers 4-flat silver washers and 8-bolts ( that i guess are for the header. ) do i just re-use the bolts that are already on the cat to the downpipe?

thanx

eric

yes... i even reused the ones that bolted the header to the engine.. the ones they send with it dont look very durable. and then reused the ones from the downpipe to the cat.. you got the right idea..

ok cool
thank you very much. im going to the auto parts store to get something other than wd-40 to help with loosening the bolts. unfortuneatley, i wont be able to put the header on today. its snowing like crazy here! and my cars too low to get it up in the garage. hmmmph...gotta love lowered cars  thanx again

eric

not a problem.. i think you will like that product... they give it a mean top end sound... and your right.. something other than wd40 is needed to get those darn things loose.. but good luck.. and careful in the snow.. i know how you feel.. being a michigander like i am..

I just went to home depot and bought 2 stainless bolts with washers and lock washers(I had to cut my old flexpipe/catbolts off  )
Enjoy that ssautochrome header I still do, it's been a year and a half and it's still nice and shiny

Oh don't forget to wipe the header down with alcohol before you start the engine for the first time

ill probably go get some bolts just in case i have to cut mine off. i hope i dont have to, but you never know!!

thanx

eric

My dad picked up some stuff called penetrating oid or something and it seemed to work pretty well on getting rusted bolts off. You have to let it sit and soak in for a while tho...

What really works best is some heat. Acetylene torch would be nice to do a quick heat and that usually does the trick (if penetrating oil does not work). But that is a bit expensive for you to pick up. You could try a small bernzomatic propane torch (you can pick up at any hardware store). That sometimes takes a little longer but can work in a pinch. Just be careful of where you are directing your flame :thumb:

it's alitlle overkill, but that will workfor ya ;)

SSautochrome is a good header. I reused almost all of my stock bolts. PB blaster is your friend. This is the best penatrent i have ever used, and you should be able to get it at walmart. Remember, PB Blaster.

my flexpipe to cat bolts were pretty much welded on and i had to drill new holes though the old bolts for the new bolts.
