I just bought a set of pace setter headers to replace my stock headers. I was wondering if there is anything I should do before I put them on. Also the old rusty bolts the headers are attached to the block with are they replaceable?

heres, a really quick and easy thing to do , if you have a NAPA (easier) near you, go and buy a stud set from them, M8x1.25 studs. Comes in a set of ten with nuts, and its about $10 and some cents. Also i would highly recommend Anti-seize, on the threads before you put them in, and on a minor note there is one stud and wont come out, and more than likey can stay there in the head, unless really crappy. But hope that helps.....:thumb:

if you can't find them locally, you can also get 4g63 exhaust manifold studs from satin or RRE. Studs and nuts for ~20 shipped from mitsubishiparts.com or 25 from RRE. A quick search should give you the part numbers :thumb:

Thanks for the help but how do I remove these studs? Can I used PB Blaster to assist the removal of them?

To remove studs, jam two nuts together, then loosen the one nearest the base. If that doesn't work, you can purchase a stud remover from Sears, Snap-on, wherever. A small pipe wrench also works, but will likely damage the threads. You can also grind the sides of the stud down so you can fit a wrench on them to turn them out.

PB Blaster will probably help a bit.
