I am upgrading my exhaust and am planning to get a new header, new high-flo cat, and the knock-off apexi n1 cat-back sold on ebay.

what i am wondering is what is the size of the ssautochrome header outlet diameter. I emailed the guys from ssutochrome and its been 2 weeks without a reply, it doesnt help that they dont have a freaking phone number to call.

could someone tell me the size definitly so i can get the ball rolling on this exhaust project???

-thanks

I DID like this header until it started leaking from that stupid-ass cheap slip-fit connector. Now I've got a lovely mass of muffler weld stuffed down there which greatly adds to the wonderful looks. I bought this thing because people recommended it. Man what a mistake that was....

whoa whoa, what happened? I've had this for 2 months n havent had any problems with it....i'd like to kno what happened to you tho.

It's a gap in the back of the slip fit connector where the header and downpipe join together. I've had two muffler shops work on it and the nature of the connection itself just isn't solid. I'll probably replace it with a Pacesetter ceramic in the next month or so. It's not a big deal, but it's been a waste of time and money. I'm pretty much done with ebay parts. No biggie though, it still runs well enough.

Cheers!

yes ssautochrome is crap , i dunno why people keep recommending them here. I hate how the 02 sensor fits in the passenger side and not the drivers side. It made it nearly impossible to install my Fluidyne radiator later on. plus that fitment problem andy is reffering to is common. I would go with Bosal header or Greddy or perhaps even email Jason at Fastfabrications.com and have him make you a custom one that actually works as afar as gains (works on race neons).

Or you can wait till AF/X completes their 420a header which will be soon.

I think what's even worse is that the threads for the smog fitting aren't correct. Mine had to be welded onto the housing so if I ever want to take this thing off, which I will, it has to be torched off and replaced. What I may do is have my shop cut everything below the downpipe arc, pull the top half of the header off, weld the slip fit on permanently and then re-assemble. Seems like redneck engineering to me, but it would probably work. I might as well simply replace it for all the trouble it's causing since by now it looks like hell from all of the muffler putty that's been stuffed around there.

Lesson learned I suppose...
