Will CEL codes 14 & 25 cause an awful sputter and minimal revs?
Also running extremely rich and spark plugs keep getting black soot on them.

New head on the motor recently.
No boost leaks
Timing is correct
ECU was fixed by ECMtogo (forget the shops name down in Florida)
New ignition system (I also checked the ohms on coil pack and power transitor)
All oem except for a walboro 255
Getting fuel pressure, I also tried another FPR laying around.

Bought another used MAF which made the idle noticably better but it's still throwing the cel code 25.

Check you idle position switch and grounds. Do you have the ground for the throttle body and is the manifold grounded to the firewall? Pictures would help.
Show us timing too. I have seen many people say timing is right but it isn't. Let us help you verify. Please fill out a profile.

IPS is connected. I had the motor out of the car for years. I know I don't have the ground from the intake manifold to the firewall. Do you want pictures of the timing with the valve cover on or off? Thanks

Line up the crank. Take a picture of the cam gears and marks.
Tps needs a ground. Connected isn't enough. The stock format has a bracket on top of the throttle body that looks like it doesn't do anything. That is the ground to the intake manifold and the Intake manifold is grounded to firewall.

I found an extra throttle body that had the missing ground.

I followed the service manual and checked my MAF, and TPS multimeter, all are good.
I grounded the idle switched and now getting continuity.
Double checked the MAF wires are in the right pin on the connector.
I unplugged my knock sensor and I noticed my engine idles smoother, but still cant rev it past 2500. Still running rich.

The issue in the linked thread was an ecu (leaking capacitor) issue.
I bought a used ECU and it solved my problem. Here's a picture of my broken ECU that I sent to ECU TO GO. Literally only has an hour of run time on it since it was fixed. Thanks again everyone.

That is a MESS! I would never use them again. Send your ECU's to ECMLink for repairs done properly.

ECUTOGO was expensive too haha.
Thanks for the advice on the ECU shop!
The guys at ECMLink are very reasonable and are very familiar with our ECU's. I have never seen anyone misuse RTV in that way and for what reason. Glad you got a different ECU. If it gives you troubles, just talk to the supporting Vendors at the bottom of this page, our friends at ECMLink. :thumb:
