2G spun balance shaft bearing question

My exhaust side balance shaft ( not the oil pump one) spun the center bearing and kicked it out, the block is pretty scored up were the bearing sits. What should I do about blocking the hole off when I delete? Im afraid the bearing won't stay in, I read somewhere people have ran a bolt in from the locknut hole. There are plugs in the block where the tooling to drill the oil holes for the balance shaft went in. Remove the plugs, and you have access to the oil hole in the balance shaft bearing. You can tap the oil hole for a plug, then replace the block plug.

This all needs to be done to the bare block, stripped of all parts. Then the oil galleys have to be brush cleaned, and the block washed.
