Balance shaft bearing install question

Well I've got my motor out and trying to install the balance shaft bearings. The block off bearing in the back of the motor. I'm having trouble installing the second one, the one in the back. I'm using a 32mm socket and a extension. I've ruined two now. Is there a better way of doing it? I'm about to just put some JB weld in the hole.

Use the balance shaft itself. One of the ends is just small enough to fit through the front bearing, but is the perfect size to tap out the back bearing with. I had this exact problem and the balance shaft made my world a lot easier. Use the same method to tap the new one in.

Still could not get it. I just left the hole open and closed the front one. Should be alright.

No, that wont be alright. You have to hit the shaft pretty hard to get it out. Were you able to get the bs in the right position?

I got the bearing out. I just can't get it back in. I'm installing a elim kit and heard it was ok to leave the holes open. Oil pressure will be slightly down but my oil gears are old. Am I wrong?

DO NOT leave the holes open, you will really be hurting your oil pressure especially if you have worn pump gears! The way I got mine out was by having a friend machine a plug that fit into the bearing and had a small lip on it to press the bearing, then drill a hole in the middle of the "plug" and use some threaded rod to fit back in the block, hammer the new bearing in. Just have to be creative .

That was the hardest part for me too, getting the new one in, but im telling you, the easiest way is to use the b/s. I bent mine up a little but I still got in in there to plug the hole.
