So i just pick up another DSM from a gentlemen on this site..And i thank him cause this thing is beasty and awesome, But it has Speed Density and it running on Moates/jackel and im new to SD and those tuning programs...Can someone help me with some info to this SD stuff. what should i be looking for, maintenance with SD etc etc. I was reading around and people have said that changing out things like cams or intake piping will completely change the car and everything because it runs on vacuum pressure. Any info on SD would be awesome and stuff i should look for with upgrades and maintenance. Thanks

Basically SD estimates Airflow based on calculation of measurements, and constants (your displacement is constant, air density relatively constant with temperature reading) Boost (pressure/vac) and engine speed are variables. It calculates the amount of air in the engine and can be really accurate especially if the MAP sensor is close to the intake manifold.

Changing cams changes your engines airflow behavior. so you will need to update your VE (volume efficiency) tables which are the constants that SD uses to calculate Airflow, based on he given variables.

I tried to make it simple, click the link, you should be able to learn all you need to know. And learn before you start modding... it will make it easier.
