Today my car died, no spark. Towed home, cranked right up, ran for a minute and died again, no spark. Few minutes later cranked up again, then died, no spark.

I'm thinking maybe CAS, just put in a new coil in the dist. Having trouble finding a new CAS for my 1g 1.8l. Is the CAS in the dist? Any way to test it?

Most of us are not well versed in 1.8.
I googled this and pulled up half a dozen threads.
1.8 DSM no spark, dsmtuners

Putting dsmtuners at the end of a google search will point to this site. I would start with those threads. Sorry I'm not much help. Been 20 years since I've played with a 1.8.

Is the CAS in the dist?

Yes it is inside.

When the car dies is the CEL on? Does it start up right away or do you need to wait awhile before it will?

Have the capacitors in the ECU been replaced? They leak like the 2.0 ECUs do.
