Hi! I am new to the eclipse platform, and recently purchased my first dsm. Its a 4g37 1g Eclipse 5spd.

Upon purchasing this car, I have already had to replace the starter twice, with a new one, in one week, first time due to a fire. Is there any reason my car is having issues with the starters going out? Maybe an issue with how its wired?

The car does also need a new alternator, as it inconsistently charges the battery. Would a 4g63 alternator work on the 4g37, or am I left to only the 65a alternators that came on these cars?

Any help is appreciated 😎

I haven't looked up the part numbers but the FSM implys that the physical mounting of the various alternators are the same. (Location of the pivot bolts and pulley offset) Since they have internal regulators the alternator should just work if it bolts up.
