The gap looks bad IMO anyone have a fix?

Also it came with a nut which I thought was an adapter of some sort but theres no way of it fitting into the knob, whats it for?

Imo that radio install looks worse.

i just wrapped black tape around my shifter level anyways to get my knob (slide on) to stay in one place. Otherwise, get a longer shifter boot and a ziptie. You need one long enough to reach the knob and then fold back down inside it self an inch or two so you can put a ziptie inside around the leather and lever.

cut a section out of the shifter and re-weld the thread back onto the shifter.

i got a short shifter, made much shorter shifts, but didn't like the height of the shifter knob. so i cut a whole bunch off then welded the threads off a bolt onto the top. nice and short :)

and i agree. fix the deck.
