Well, I finihsed the box today, here's some pics of it with 2 places re-enforced to be drilled and tapped for in and out fittings ( the 1/4 plate squares ), I fixed 2 previous pin holes i found while i was at it and now ahve it full of water on dry paper towels to see if any more leaks show their faces or not :D

I'm fairly proud of it and now i want to find an old smaller intercooler with decent flow to make a water intercooler :D

Lol, sorry man, I just noticed the additions to the thread :ohdamn: Looks good and the reinforcement areas are right where I called out. Looking forward to getting it and fitting it (hope my dimensions were correct :D)

Dude, even that damn printer box was too small, I have to find some way to ship this thing tomorrow morning. The shape is so odd i can't find anything to fit it in, but don'[t worry, i'll make a damn box if i have to, you WILL get your box :D

I think i'm going to take 3 of those free priority boxes, each one to fit the 3 major parts of the box, then tape all their flaps together and just wrap the living sh1t out of it with tape, the box is pretty tough so i don't think it will get damaged at all and i've got some bubble wrap i can put around the filler neck which is the only part i'd even worry about, and i'll pack that part well

I'll also insure it for around 125 -150 bucks because i think that would be fair if I had to build another one if anything were to happen. There will be a receipt in the box so look for it and hang on to it just in case. I worked at the post office once and they are good about paying up to keep the public happy...

OOhhh.... what about mounting tabs???? How are you going to secure this sucker? Full of water she's quite heavy, just from handling it during leak testing, she's about 25 pounds or so plum full.

As long as I get the main container, I'm pretty good at figuring it out from there ;)

So when are you going to mass produce those motor mounts! I want a set asap! :D

btw I forgot to thank you for the info on drilling and tapping the cams. Mr. Peepers did a great job as always for me and they are working nicely in my spyder :) Though it doesn't quite have a consistent lumpy noise but it works. I'm thinking that maybe I have the same problem peepers did which is maybe I need to ground the TB?

On the 6bolts with the 1g throttle body there is an idle stop switch on the back of the throttle body Its part of the ISC when setting the ISC you have to ground the pin in order to adjust IDLE with the BISS so that the ISC isnt fluctuating....

On your solid motor mounts did you drill them in the center or did you do an eccentric hole in them? I'm only asking because I've been procrastinating machining a set for a few months and I want it to go smoothly.

nice work. I need to learn how to weld

Thank you ! It's always nice to hear your work is apreciated :D

I had thought about drilling them eccentric since at least the OEM front one was, but they were center drilled and to the best ID i could get for tight tolerances with a bore tool ground from HHS shank

So the mount still went in fine and the engine sat properly with the holes on center? That will make this just a piece of cake very little math now.
Oh and I forgot to mention that I am very impressed with your work, it's very creative and well made.

Glenn, I finished up the rear mount today. Haven't gone for a test drive yet but initial startup, I barely noticed a change in vibration. Installation did not go as well as I thought it would. Here are some notes:

1. The solid bushing was not pressed in right. When I installed it initially, the mount holes were so far off I couldn't even see it. I had to take channel locks and press them towards the left side of the bushing. I didn't get any measurements, sorry.
2. The center hole sat too high. It was off by about 1/8th. I jacked up the rear of the tranny all the way up and it did not budge. What I did was loosen the bolts to the engine bracket, lined it up and inserted the bolt, then rebolted everything down tight.

I don't know how you'll approach the next set of mounts. Those are my suggestions however.
Overall, it wasn't too bad. In the end it worked out. Thanks Glenn! I give these an 90/100.

PS. Check my Suspension mods.

Here are some update pics of the stuff Glenn welded for me in the first post. I had all of this powder coated by bonehead performance, and I must say it looks amazing!:hellyeah:

That looks killer aaron, your car is gonna make me so jealous that i'll have to sell the house to get enough parts to compete (LOL just kidding, I love your car, but mine will never be quite as setup as yours is :D )

Moving on...... When did you want to get on the rest of that stuff? I've got plasma cutter now (bought yesterday) so now i'm working on templates for exh and intake mani flanges as well as DP flanges for any turbo. :) BOut to make a post about it actually is why i logged on :p

Whats up Glenn? I was reading on the first post. You said that you are moving? From Omaha? Hope not. If I'd knew that you had a plasma cutter, I would've brought you me front bumper beam to trim for my FMIC. I finally installed that. It took me a very long time. I had to trim it with a reciprocating saw and a small dremel. LOL.

I'm free pretty much anytime, whenever you get a chance just give me a call and we'll get it figured out! I might wait on the downpipe, and just bring the car up when I get everything else done. It fits, but may need to be tweaked a little, and it would just be easier if the car was there.

ooo a plasma cutter, those are fun, we have one back at home. Now you can make anything!! :)

Well, I've only had it 2 days now, and only got it up and running late last night. But if you need anything in the future let me know. Also, I'm NOT moving now, me and the wifey are going to go our seperate ways ( i hope ) and also hoping we can at least be nice to each other because she's just calling to make me feel like sh!t everyday now and i'm not dealing with that. I just told her she don't accept or apreciate me and i know there's a woman that will and that will apreciate the way i treat her and that our thing isn't going to work.. but no matter hownice 'im trying to be she just keep trying to pick fights...errr, god i love women, but almost hate em too....they must be a lot like DSM's LOL

awesome work!
thanks, I put my pride into what i do and won't pass on a product i'm not happy with even igf the person it's for likes it or says it's okay, i still want it perfect. That's one reason i bought a plasma cutter , I got so sick of waiting to have parts sheared or trying to make weird shaped cuts with saws only to have them turn out screwed up, i figured the plasma would be a great investment. Already locked in more work using it with a few off my commercial contractors so hopefully this thing will pay for it's self before too long.

Man, are those your phone pics ? THose are pretty nice if so! Thanks for posting those up, i'll need some copies when my buddy finaly starts on my website (if ever) The guy with that 80/250 hybrid dirtbike is supposed to be making me a new one since his server crashed and i lost the first one and he never fixed it :(

Anyway, It looks like the parts fit exatly right...not bad for not even having the car.... Your makring and fit-up prior to coming over is always top notch! I can't wait to finally see the whole project some day soon (when we finish the DP )

well, off to read other posts :D

I would also like to extend another HUGE thank you to gsxtasy for helping me get my large compressor home, carried to the basement and helping me hook it up to where i have air in the garage via a line from the basement where the compressor is under the stairs and the lines run out to the garage to save space.(even after at least 8 years of ownership the thing is so quiet you can't yhear it upstairs or in the garage - i can watch TV and never know it kicked on :D ) We also added a 240 plug to the garage on a 50amp breaker to power the plasma or anything else i might need to run. He helped me bring so much stuff home, I didn't feel right to not do something in return for him, so now he's got a spare 6 bolt block to start building another spare motor (just in case ya know ) - Sorry again about it having some oil left in it.

I also now have all my toolboxes (new unboxed ones) home and ready to be filled :)

Ah, no those are from a real camera. :p I forgot I took these, here are the in-progress pics. The crappy quality shows...
