Alright so before I get a bunch of eye rolls or judging...I have a medical condition known as Gout. With I get a gout attack, even a bed sheet touching my foot induces pain like you've not experienced.

So now that you know that, here's my question...what would I have to do to keep the pedal pressure soft like stock(maybe a tiny...tiny bit more firm but not much) but be able to run to an ACT 2600 style PP/clutch? I've done a tiny bit of digging to no avail, but my line of thought right now is to take advantage of hydraulics via the Master/Slave cylinders. Does ANYONE have any experience with this, or know where I could start? What cars should I be looking for to retrofit their master to my trans? I was actually pointed towards a 3G V6 or a VR4/RT-TT's master/slave. Feel free to chime in (if you have PERSONAL EXPERIENCE)with clutch/pressure plate choices that hold 350-400tq like a champ that has a soft clutch pedal. I've been looking at southbend kits but Tim Z. blew me off, so now I'm turning to Tuners.

Just for the disclaimer...I've got an automatic and it'll be the backup. But a heavy pressure plate always ends up inducing a gout attack...always. I don't want to stick with stock power in my 5-speed either. So keep the snarky "just get an automatic, bruh" or "just go with a heavy PP and drive it less" comments to yourself or your buddies.

All help is very appreciated.

I recommend getting a southbend clutch from Tim over at tmz. Would hold the power you want with a stock feeling pedal. Way better then an act in my opinion.

I've been debating this, but was looking for someone with personal experience on the matter that could say they put down XXXwhp and XXXtq with this Southbend clutch kit and it felt just like(or very close) stock.

Awesome! Perfect reply, thank you. I have no idea how I missed that thread. The more I read the more I'm sold on an SS-series PP with a TZ/B-series disk. Going to wait for more advice though, just to be sure.

Centerforce Dual Friction. I don't have any direct experiences other than driving it around but another member did and swayed me to it. He was holding up to 400 ft*lbs

South Bend hands down. I could not tell the difference between my clutch and stock. I also have the accumulator removed. It was holding great until my rear seal leaked all over it. It held 5,500 rpm launches on an FP HTA Green like a champ and pulls spiking at 27 psi and holding around 23-24psi.

I have the South Bend SS-Series Pressure Plate, with the TZ-Series Kevlar Clutch Disk.

+1 on the Centerforce Dual Friction.

While I'm sure the South Bend is a better clutch overall, I have the Centerforce right now and the pedal is very soft, and hasn't had any trouble holding the 350lb/ft+ on my setup.

With that being said, when my CFDF clutch goes out, I will be buying a South Bend. But for that amount of power, the Centerforce will be fine, and its around $300 IIRC.

Awesome, very much appreciated guys. I was hesitant to ask for fear of a bunch of "LOL just get a heavy clutch bro" or trolling. Right now it's looking like Southbend wins. But the CDF has me curious too. I'm so glad there are options out there other than just dealing with pushing a cinder-block through a web of steel(exaggeration, but when your gout attack happens on your clutch foot...this is what it feels like, but add in searing hot pokers in your joint). :p

South bend clutch takes my vote as well. They are rated to hold more power than the act 2600, without running a heavier pressure plate. It's all in the friction material they use. I've been very pleased with the SS/TZ clutch I got from them, clutch pedal is barely any stiffer than stock, and its rated at a conservative 500 torque.

Another vote for south bend.
I was researching DSM performance clutches when I was in the market.
Ran across the info about the redesigned pressure plate allowing increased clamping & light pedal resistance. Now that I have the SBC installed, I can confirm it.
I have a SS/TZ combo & it feels just about the same as stock.
Also have a braided line from master to slave, those are a necessity for a 2g as well .

I didn't know I blew you off; I am simply insanely busy and can miss phone calls or have durations between answering emails as I get ALOT of messages throughout the day/night and can only answer so many of them being a 1-man show.

I would definitely stick with the SS-Series pressure plate as it has a stock like pedal feel; you can always use the OEM clutch accumulator too so it is easier for you. As for clutch disks, either the TZ-series if it is going to be below 400TQ as a street car; if you intend on launching the car on a prepped track I would recommend the TZ/B dual friction Kevlar/Ceramic disk then as it has a higher torque capacity while still being extremely smooth to drive for daily usage and handle track time as well.

The SBC's I offer have been tested, proven and have made a great improvement in allowing extremely streetable clutches for higher power DSM's with very little sacrifice to the driver.

how does the ss-x presuure plate compare to act 2600 as far as pedal pressure goes?

the centerforce clutch is very smooth. his pressure plate uses ball bearings on the pivot points.

people were recommending 3k gt masters because they have a small diameter booster. no doubt would give incredibly light pedal pressure. I just havent seen anyone do that on a dsm. there is no room for it.

Why wouldn't there be room? You have me intrigued. The lighter the pressure, the better. I'm not someone who feels the need to prove his manliness with how rock hard his clutch pedal is, so I don't mind feeling like I've stepped in a pile of dogshit. :p
