Don't use the cheap dual wiper sockets on an ECU. Those types of sockets are not ment to be used in equipment that vibrates. Over time the chip will work it's way out of the socket.
Back in the early days of computers part of the troubleshooting process was to pull all the boards out and reseat the chips because of how often they work their way out.

Use a machine pin socket. I prefer a open frame one but these will work fine.

ZIF sockets are not rated for this use either but they're actually better than the standard socket.
The machine pin is still the better choice and you won't have the interference problem if they do come out with a 2G daughtercard like the 1G's have. The latch on ZIF doesn't clear the card so you have to use another socket in it so you can latch done and them plug the daughtercard in to it.

Yep, Steve your a DSM God. What I as going to say but X 50. Doesn't ECMtuning use machined sockets? Just give your ecu to them if you're going dsmlink. I don't know what the other chip manufacturers use.
