Special thanks to Dave and Phil for the thread title
Took my 14b talon to the dsm/evo shootout in Norwalk hoping for a new best. About a week and a half ago I managed a 12.25 @ 111 at our local dragstrip. Since then I added a touch of timing up top, pulled a little from the middle, and took a little fuel out. Then I crushed my bov which proved to send the boost from 21 psi to 25 instantly. Obviously fixed a good leak, turned her back to 21psi and headed for norwalk.
I got there exactly at 9 and headed for the lines hoping for a pass or two while it was cool out. Hit the line and headed for the lights. The car hooked up instantly, track was very sticky! If I'd been better with the clutch the track was perfect for some great passes, alas I need a better driver mod. Cut a 1.7 60 ft. But when I grabbed the timeslip I was still ecstatic. 12.091 @ 113.92!
Had a couple issues and we finally got lined up for the first qualifying round. Tried to hit the launch better but the tires broke loose and I managed another 1.7 sixty. But I hit the new personal best of 12.050 @ 113.36. Timeslip breakdown
1.708 60 ft.
7.709 1/8th ET
89.49 1/8th mph
12.050 1/4th ET
113.36 1/4 MPH
Then it started to rain
Fortunately it cleared up and I got three more passes in, but between the track prep going away and it heating up I couldn't get the timeslips down. The runs went down like this:
12.132 @ 112.82 (Launched about sideways from the wheels spinning, shows a 1.67 60ft though)
12.8 @ 111.83 (Didn't lift foot all the way off clutch enabling NLTS off the launch! OOPS!)
12.139 @ 112.72 (Once again spinning hard, but a 1.69 60 ft anyways)
So no 11's yet! They'll come eventually, I'll be waiting for a nice cool day to head to one of our local dragstrips and try again. Mod list should be up to date for the essentials. In a lot of ways I feel like I have to earn my 11's by hitting those 12.0?'s just like Phil and Dave haha! Thanks to those guys and all the fellas in the 14b thread who've been an inspiration and a help.

You'll definately have those 11s next time around. Would you mind posting a log? It would be really helpful to another 14b racer
! Looks like I need to run a couple miles first.
