The smoking is rediculous! I have been to three different shops trying to find out why my car smokes. What i mean, when I'm driving nice and easy, between shifts a poof of smoke will come out. Small. When siting at a stop light, sometimes i smell it. When im boosting hard it pour out. The shops i've been to so far said it was my turbo, so i changed it. Went with a hx35. No change. Next was my catch can setup which is rear of v/c to catch can, catch can to pcv orignal vac. I also have a hose from the side of the v/c to the air filter. I have tried moving things around and nothing helps. I have replaced piston rings, head gasket, and the head was sent to a machine shop and reconditioned. Valve seals were replaced. HELP!!

Sounds like valve stem seals bro! And adding a bigger turbo and more pressure sure won't help LOL! Make sure all the seals were pressed in properly. What is your oil pressure at idle and in boost? Do ya have a gauge to check this? IF not this may be your problem! Do you have balance shafts still?

I bet the oil relieve holes behind the oil rings on the pistons are clogged. Ask me how I know. If you ran seafoam or any other cleaner with the oil or in combustion chambers, well that would do it.

I have not tried any of those test since the issue. Oil pressure at idle is around 30psi. Pressure at full boost is around 100 to 120 area. No balance shafts. I would like to try a better catch can. What should i buy? The piston were clear before reassembly.[DOUBLEPOST=1413613889][/DOUBLEPOST]No seafoam or cleaners in this engine.

Just block the IM inlet off and try it, but the oil pressure is still too high for any turbo. You might have to remove the OFH and cut a coil off the spring.

I think your oil pressure up top is to high for your turbo, I think it's supposed to be around 70psi! Go to the holset tech threads on here and find the proper pressure rating and get yours there! You need to port the ofh and add a restrictor to the holset! Also calan catch can would be my preferred choice! Once my gvr4 build is ready for one to be plummed in im ordering mine from him! Can you chime in Justin?
