I just got my slim fans and radiator installed. Im really confused on how to wire the slim fans. There are 4 wires for each plug on the harness. The passengers side wires are Blue with a red stripe, blue with a black stripe, green with a black stripe, and solid black. The drivers side is solid black, blue with black, solid blue, and black with a with stripe. The slim fans only have a black and a blue wire. If anyway can point me into the right direction on how to wire these up i would really appreciate it, because im really lost when it comes to wiring. Thanks in advance guys.

No images but perhaps more detail will help.

USING HARNESS SIDE WIRES OF FAN CONNECTOR:

For driver's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's blue/white (ie. blue with white stripe) wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue wire with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue/black wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)

For passenger's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's white/black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's white/blue wire with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue/green wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)

USING FAN SIDE WIRES OF "ORIGINAL FAN" CONNECTOR:

For driver's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's blue/black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue wire with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's black/white wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)

For passenger's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's blue wire with
2. original fan harness connector's green wire with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's yellow wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)

Note: If ECU doesn't turn fans on when engine hot, test the 2 wire engine coolant temp sensor near thermostat (2.1k-2.7k ohms @ 68F, 260-360 ohms @ 176F).

Here ya go. Should point you in the right direction.

SO i thought i had everything figured out with these slims fans. I started on the drivers side, blue to blue and black to black. I turned on the a/c to activate the fans and nothing. Does anyone know if there is something that i am missing here? I bench tested the fans and they are working properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any other way to get the fans to work without a switch or a relay?
Each fan should always have its own relay. Of course you should be able to use the original relays and wiring if you're careful (I'm not sure why awdmonster1904 didn't in that link unless he didn't know what to do about the changeover relay which takes some thought). Send me a pm and I'll explain it.

Im trying to figure this one out myself. The car I just bought has a slimline installed but is running ALL THE TIME. The fan wires are blue and black, with blue to blue, and black to black on the factory harness. I checked out the link above, why would you need to ADD a relay. Does the stock wiring not already incorporate a relay? Why is it that my fan runs all the time(I never reach 190* to enter closed loop)?

If it uses the stock relay then you don't need to add a relay. You can tell if it's using the stock relay by unplugging it.

If it's running all the time then either the coolant temp sensor switch is bad or a previous owner re-wired it that way (which many on here like to do due to overheating with heavy engine use or a hot outside temp climate).

Well it's wired into the stock harness. I guess what I really need to know is what the resistance should be for the sensor in the radiator and the top sensor in the tstat housing and why I am not seeing any voltage to this top sensor?

It may be wired into the stock harness but that doesn't mean the wiring hasn't been changed on the relay by someone to keep it on all the time. Just a possibility if the following checks out.

The radiator sensor is actually a thermo switch that turns on in the 180-190F range and off when less than 172F. This is the primary suspect (shorted). Unplug it and see if the fan goes off.

There's 2 temp sensors on the T-housing. The 2 wire one is for the ECU and the 1 wire is for the dash temp gauge. But on a 1g neither of these controls the fan - only the thermo switch and A/C do.

If i unplug the sensor in the radiator the fan stays on, the 2 wire ecu sensor is brand new, and the upper a/c sensor is disconnected. The wires going to the a/c sensor do not show any voltage and the sensor itself shows no resistance.

I just realized yours is a 91 galant which has fan wiring more like a 2g than a 1g. Attached is your stock fan wiring schmatic. Radiator fan is passenger side, condensor fan is drivers side.

Do you have 2 slimline fans or just 1 slimline?
Does the radiator sensor (switch) have just 1 blue-black wire?
Unplug all 4 fan relays (in engine fusebox) to see if they are being used.
Where is this a/c sensor you mention?

EDIT: FINALLY they work, I appreciate all the help. I traced the wire #2 from the HI relay and found it was bolted to the - terminal at the battery. I cut the + wire that was going to the thermo sensor in the radiator and connected it to #2 thus converting the thermo sensor from a + switch to a - switch. The A/C fan must be hardwired somewhere into the regular fan wiring because it operates in conjunction with the slimline which is fine by me, as long as I can enter closed loop Im happy.

Great - you changed the wiring to be exactly correct - good job. Ya the previous owner must have wanted the fans on all the time so connecting wire #2 from the HI relay to ground (or B-) would do that for the radiator fan. And I agree he probably changed the A/C fan wiring too somewhere to operate with the radiator fan. The fan on all the time mod is not uncommon although everyone does it differently.

I cant understand why anyone would do this? My fuel trims have been at 100% since I got the car, not once did my car reach 190*f and enter closed loop until I disconnected one of the fans. I dont see any advantages to running the car in that way.

One more thing that I was curious about was should I have been seeing 12v+at the green wire going to the sensor in the radiator? For some reason it doesnt seem that I should have.

Some people race their engines so hard, have it modified heavily, and/or run in hot climates that they are constantly overheating and so force the fans to run constantly.

If you're talking about the green-black wire from relay Lo pin 2 to thermo sensor, then yes you should read 12v+ since with the thermo switch off/disconnected you are just reading the voltage through the relay (think of relay coil as just a wire with no voltage drop since no current is flowing).
