sit for 15 minutes and try to start, feels like it's missing

Lately car starts fine when cold. When you let her sit for 15 minutes and try to start she feels like its missing real bad. So I let the car sit at idle for about 15 minutes I hop in and it drives fine. Today that is not working. Just keeps doing the same thing. Idle sounds messed up too. Not smooth like usual. Sounds choppy. I know my alternator is on its way out. I have had the phantom radiator light. I also noticed when I pump the brake the idle will go up. I have no idea if that is related or not. The car did this when I had fuel system issues. That is all fixed now. New pump, AFPR, lines, tank, and filter. Problem came back a month and a half later. Can anyone help me?

Hey man. First, people are going to give you some trouble if you start to bump your threads.

I would start with the basics and replace the plugs (and probably the wires too). Make sure you use NGK BPR6ES for plugs. If they don't work, try wires.

Make sure to inspect the old plugs when you remove them.

You dont need to bump your thread bro. People will help if they can.
But buy new spark plugs and spark plug wires for a start and see how that works out.
You should think about getting a new alternator too. Check your fuel line and make sure your pump is working correctly for the idle issues.

Anyway man, I'd check your CTS since it works fine once it's warmed up. And your original post is a little hard to understand, give us some more info if you can.

Thanks for the help guys. Sorry to bump the thread but I need to get this car going by Sunday so I can go to work. I have NGk plugs in the car now. I put them in about 5K miles ago. The wires came with the car. I will try replacing them. But the car fired up fine this morning and drove perfectly. AS for the alternator I have had the phantom dash lights for some time now. I am going to be replacing the alternator as soon as I can get the cash together for a new one.

Coolant temp. sensor. They're about $20 from autozone and located on the thermostat.

I am not sure if it has anything to do with my thermostat being stuck open. The thermostat got stuck closed and I replaced it. Two weeks later it got stuck open. So when I replace the thermostat I will replace the CTS. Hopefully I should be good after that.

I was recommended by someone to check the spark plug wells for oil. (I had not changed the plugs yet) I checked and sure enough one well was filled with oil. I cleaned it all out and the car started fine. Ordering new valve cover gasket, 4 spark plug well gaskets, 4 new plugs, and a new set of wires tomorrow. Should I bother getting the oil cap gasket? Says its optional on VFAQ.

The oil cap gasket goes bad over time. It just dries up and gets hard. Check your gasket to see if its still flexible and not hard and ready to fall apart. If its never been replaced, replace it. I'd replace it anyways since its just a few more dollars.

Sounds like a leaking fuel injector. When the injector gets clogged up or starts to malfunction, fuel will leak into a cylinder or mulitple cylinders and cause "flooded" state. The best way to check this is to hook up a fuel pressure gauge and run the car at idle, then shut it off and check the fuel pressure. It should hold the base idle fuel pressure if it slowly leaks down then you know that you have a pressure leak somewhere in your fuel system... most likely and injector leak.
