just recently started doing this, but it feels like the rpm's when just driving around normally will miss. the car jerks randomly under acceleration, and won't do it all the time. also the rpm's stick like crazy on the tach when this happens. I just recently replaced the plugs if that matters. I've heard many things concerning this issue such as a knock sensor, a coil pack problem, ect. I just thought i'd ask for opinions here, in the next day or two i'm taking the obd to it again and going from there... :hmm:

Well, it could also be something with your fuel too, have you ever changed your fuel filter yet. Thats what bit me in the ass when i first got my car. Or it could also be a boost leak of sorts, if you haven't boost leak tested the car yet I most definitely would.

Does it pull hard, then doesn't, then pulls again, and such back and forth? But doesn't do it when you're accelerating gently?

If so, check your knock sensor. My car was doing the same thing and the knock sensor was loose. I'd accelerate, the sensor would smack the block, it'd pull timing. The car wouldn't accelerate as fast, and the sensor would come off the surface and no longer detect knock. So it would let the timing go. Would pull hard and the knock sensor would smack against the block again. Rinse Repeat.

Mine was so loose 50trimmd1g actually tightened mine by hand. which reminds me, I need to actually wrench that down one of these days. >..>

The first thing that i would check for is a boost leak. A simple boost leak test can normally point you in the right direction even if its not the problem! My car had the same symptoms a while back. Runs rich, jerks under low load/low rpm (acceleration). In my case it was a combination of problems including a MAF curcuit malfunction and a nice size boost leak.

Achelea, i'd have to say thats a good way to describe what its doing more or less, but in a fast manner. when it stops pulling its only for a split second then pulls and does it a couple more times like it enjoys making me scratch my head and ask why... LOL

Could be spark plugs. I had a little missing under heavy acceleration and thought it was fuel cut maybe. But my friend who owns an EVO was like "Nah brah, that aint fuel cut. You will know when you hit fuel cut." :banghead:

I changed my spark plugs 15 mins ago and let me tell you... smooth shifts and acceleration. New spark plugs = cheap mod ROFL

I'd say check the Knock sensor, It might be hanging loose, or not tightened down. Or if its, the rubber/plastic may have gone bad and it's not reading right. I'd try replacing it if that's the case.

Or like he said, Try doing a tune up. New plugs, new wires, and be happy. :)
