Nothing too exciting going on yet until I can get her back on the ground :)

Got the seats and the rest of the interior in. Really happy with this carpet, especially for the price. It's just as thick as OEM with the padding under neath.

Also grabbed Kiggly's new V2 crank trigger.

Awesome build, huge fan of the 1gb talons and have two myself. Keep up the good work and documentation.

Quick question, why did you pick up the crank trigger when you have a 1g? Isn't the 1g CAS (cam angle sensor) going to be used on this build since you have a 1g wiring harness.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad people are enjoying the progress.

The car will be using both crank and cam sensors like the 7 bolt DSM & EVO's.

The advantage of using both is you get a much better signal. You get no oscillations from the valve train and timing belt and removes the possibility of timing drift. It also lets you make cam gear adjustments. You can see a huge difference from before/after on a dyno with it and how much smoother the power looks.

Thanks for the info and are you just going to wire them directly into the harness or you swapping to a 2g harness all together?

Block machine work was delayed as the original block from the car had some issues... Middle main journal was out of round by .003".

Sourced a virgin block off craigslist for $50 that ended up being good!

It should be done and back in my possession in a few weeks :) The builder is Tom Swingler located in PA. He did my Evo block as well.

Still waiting for the block. I guess the machine shop has been backed up.

Got the rear suspension all finished and buttoned up in the car.

-Jay Racing toe eliminator
-BoostX subframe bushings
-Maximal adjustable rear control arms
-Bullfab rear mustache bar
-New rear sway bar end links.

De-powered the steering rack using the Flyin' Miata technique. The rack turns so much easier now.

Put the car on the ground to see how she looks. I think the front wheels will tuck a bit better once the engine/trans/everything else is in.

Thanks man!

Block is finished, but unfortunately the crank did not clean up like we hoped with a polish. I have a new crank that will be there this week to polish so we can finally get that assembled.

Picked up a fluidyne radiator. I bought black mishimoto silicone hoses to use.

Catch can overflow from Paul Gamble. Fitting really nice with a factory mounting point. I was going to fab one of these myself but I couldn't resist :)

I went to repair my rusted gas tank where every stud broke off for the fuel sending unit. After further examination inside the tank, I am going to go with the JMF 10gal fuel cell. The 10 gallon tucks up into the car pretty well and is not nearly as obnoxious as the 7 gal.

Still waiting on the engine as both cranks ended up being junk we were planning to use. The car should still be back on the road by next month!

Also went and picked up a new summer DD :)

Paul was on facebook bragging about the welds on that tank. Fitment looks awesome, I like the way it tucks in there. Glad to see it's going to a good cause.
They are some pretty good welds for sure. He will be making many more I believe. I don't think anyone makes a 1g overflow!

Love that black. Nice build
Thank you :)
