Did you do a back-to-back Dyno? I'm curious on their claim that it supposedly better than K&N. I'm looking for another filter that is more compact to replace my K&N but a little skeptical about this one. I wonder what kind of restrictions at 90lbs+ of air.

Yes, much better than K&N. Whalen did back to back dyno tests and picked up 10-20HP depending on the car.

My personal testing was back to back on the track with no filter then this one. MPH stayed the same. I ran with no filter in my class for qualifying, then had to add a filter to make the car legal for eliminations.

Made the downpipe yesterday and wired in the forced four shift box.

Should be able to fire up the car this weekend.

The exhaust consists of 3" SS o2 housing to oil pan > 3" aluminum downpipe > 4" aluminum to the back with a 4" vibrant aluminum muffler.

Your build is looking good! Seen how you tap and threaded your valve cover for the baffle underneath, are you not worried about them backing out? I really like the oil fill cap with AN fitting seen them around for years , were did you pick it up? thxs

thanks man! I am not worried about it. I used some good lock washers and red loctite. Evo owners usually have to bolt it back in also and not weld since the valve covers are magnesium. I bought the cap off Hal (he is a member on here and sells them).

Fired it up today. Runs awesome! See video below. I have a leak to fix and still need to top off the trans fluid.

Car has to go back to my father in law who painted it for wet sanding and polish. Ignore all the dust on the car here LOL.

Magnesium huh I did not know that, thxs for the info. Any Idle how much the exhaust weighed? Sounds good, looks good too!

What size is the intercooler piping? Also, is that an OEM timing belt? Looks different.

This build is great. Nice work!

Sounds and looks awesome!
Thanks!

Thanks! I agree, love the sound. The entire exhaust weighs about 15lbs.

Thank you :)

2.5" IC piping. Timing belt is an OEM EVO IX belt. They are reinforced with kevlar.

Keep up the good work! :)

What's the ground clearance on the lowest part of the exhaust?

I'm debating if I should upgrade to 3.5" or 4" being its a street driven car and aluminum exhaust .

7-8" I believe. I could have tucked it way better, but I didn't feel like re-doing everything.

Thanks. That's plenty of ground clearance for the street then.

Do you have more pics of the exhaust routing. I would be interested to see how you route yours.

That's the only picture I have right now. It's a straight shot from the downpipe and runs along the left side of the driveshaft, it then cuts across under the rear diff to the bumper.
