I am currently running a gm maf in my upper i/c piping and am going to be switching back to a 2g mas. I know i can, but will there be any bad side effects if i use a 10" section of silicone as an intercooler pipe to i can remove the gm maf?

Long as its tight on there, you will be fine. That section will expand though like the stock sections, if it were me I would have a metal piping welded in the missing area.

I was planning on putting in a new metal section just not right now cause school starts this week and i need cash for books.

I think i was going to go with High Temp Silicone product from www.extremepsi.com . seems to be the same product and costs the same for a 12" section.

Oh ok, long as you have it planned for the future. I would get the high temp silicon from extremepsi, with t-bolt clamps.

The silicone section will work fine for the moment. You can also order directly from www.hightempsilicone.com

you can also go to your local Napa store and buy 2.5"ID pressure hose and T-Bolt clamps

Hose here sells for $13 bucks a foot and the T-Bolts are $3.50 each.

I actually a little better at Extremepsi's website and they sell 18" strait sections for like $29. So i'm just gonna get that.
