Ok my old shifter cable broke so i bought new ones from extremepsi. I took the old ones out the new ones are in. But the car just wont shift. It feels like its moving in places it shouldnt not staying in gears just all around feels off. Before the cable broke i had all gears fine and even with one broken cable i still have first and 3rd. Now nothing is working correctly.

I measured the cables matched them from end to end and they are the same as the old cables they are installed the exact same way no crossing cables everything is connected to the right side. Im just honestly lost. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Ok i was messing with it and now it was driving in 1st 3rd 4th and 5th but it still felt completely wrong. Like neutral wasnt in the right place it was just off i almost had to search for neutral to shift into another gear and then its searching left to right to make sure i hit the gear. Whats going on???

Are you sure you haven't crossed the cables?

Or you have switched both cables and on both ends.

disconnect it from the transmission, and check on the tranny:

put both to the middle. then check whichone moves with out any resistance.

this one is connected to the one left on the shifter.

New cables sometimes require a lot of adjustment. There should also be threaded ends at the shifter end. The shifter itself also has bushings in it that are common to fail.

they are def hooked up at the right spots. and the 2g cables dont have threaded ends at the shifter thats only on the 1g's i believe. the tranny bushings are new and actually the metal ones bought off speedsource.
ive looked at it while my friend moved it and it shifts fine at times mainly the left cable or well the right one if looking at the tranny from the front of the car is the cable i seem to have the most trouble with though.

what else is there too adjust? i mean anything and how would i adjust it? this just seems too simple to be this hard. of everything ive done myself on this car this seemed the most straight forward but this is where im at. thanks for the help so far everyone
