ok i not really new to dsm i biult 3 420a motors but new to turbos.
i was wondering if i have a good set up. here is what i have going on,
i have eagle rods and crank, jdm stage 3 57 trim turbo with boost controler and timer , 36lb accel injectors, apexi safc , and vortech fpr and fmu, walbro 255. also im debaiting on 8:5:1 or 9:6:1 forged pistons. i only want to run around 15psi of boost.

The 9:6:1 will do for that amount of boost but you will be able to run that a lot safer with 8:6:1. The safc isn't really a good tuning device for our cars. All it can do for our cars is lean it out a bit. It does this by fooling the ecu. I personally would look into a megasquirt ecu they do wonders for tuning a 420a. I had my 98 avenger with a 420a boosted on 8 psi. Hope this info helps.

thanks i was looking in to the megasquirt ecu but i use up all my funds getting all the other stuff so i got the safc for free by one of the team members so going to use it for now, will get it later for sure

I also suggest looking into a missing link or a fcd. Once our ecu's see over 8psi they tend to cut fuel. The fcd is wired in an keeps the ecu from seeing more then 8 psi. The missing link does pretty much the same thing but is installed on you intake manifold then the mas is installed onto it. These can usually be had for around $50.

Yeah, I realize that, I just thought it was funny. I am entertained by people that write about their JDM parts.

Yeah, but when your on a budget they can do the job until a better one can be had. I've heard they can't handle past the 8psi mark an start breaking down. but i wouldn't know because I personally used a garret 60 trim t3 t4.

I'm talking about the ebay jdm turbo.

You definitely don't want to run the safc, not even temporarily...trust me on this one. If you're going to invest that much into a built motor save a little bit more for megasquirt.

budget is the key word 4 kids and 2 dogs there goes the money LOL , jdm for now i want the gt35 turbo

yeah i was just thinking that i should do that for now , im going to check on the price for the megasquirt again , need that for sure , and i didnt hear anything bad about the jdm turbo is it a crappy turbo

brand new got it from a company out in cali called jdm secrets or something like that

Well i haven't heard of them I'd run it at 8psi an see how it stands after that. Does it look high quality? I have a buddy who ran a jdm turbo on his 240sx an it was just fine. But then I've heard the ebay jdm turbos tend to blow oil seals. It varies though. I wish you the best of lick with your setup!

I also wish you the best of "lick" on your setup and throw my vote in for the low compression pistons and advice to take it easy on the turbo untill jdm secrets tells you their secret way of getting turbos for cheap.

I also suggest looking into a missing link or a fcd. Once our ecu's see over 0psi they tend to cut fuel. The fcd is wired in an keeps the map sensor from seeing positive pressure, causing fuel cut.

Fixed.

*note: 95' model's don't need a fcd/missing link.
