I saw some scat rods for sale for my 6bolt. The description says they're rated at 900hp. They are indeed a hbeam rod. Does anybody have some input on this?

Well the question is, will these rods hold 900hp. In conjunction with Ross or wiseco hd pistons. The build is being done by a reputable machine shop locally.

What do you mean they're not bolt in? I understand I have to get the shortblock balanced and built.

Eagle's website says their H beams for us are rated for 1000hp so I assume that the scat h beams would be rated close to that.

Nevermind..What I was trying to say was..That you can't add these rods to a 14b car and expect 900hp.

If you have the right mods..You should be able to do 900 hp..But if your building the engine for 900hp..You may want to upgrade everything else on the car.OR having the car at idle is going to break stuff.;) You feel me?

Lol well lets just say this isn't my first build. I'm just not familiar with scat and the quality of their products in comparison to other brands. Which is why I created this thread. I've done research, but have come up with very little "clean" data on what this product is actually capable of.

They are essentially the exact same as eagles. 900 CRANK HP, yes. I'd personally say anything over 750awhp is starting to push it.

Ok awesome. Thanks for the info. I was just going to use these rods for a mild build. Theyre so cheap and cost effective! Probably as much as it would cost for a new set of oem rods. I wonder what the stock pistons can hold with these rods???

My big boy build is going to consist of Wiseco 1400HD pistons, Manley turbo tuff I beams and a manley crank. ACL bearings and ARP everything. 2 liter rpm shooting for 900+whp in a 1g. Cant wait!!

Anything under 500awhp, I'd iuse the standard 6 bolt rodsand pistons. Even for 500-650, I'd use 6 bolt rods machined for arps and EVO pistons and pins with a good set of quality bearings. IMO, its not necessary to go fully forged till over 650awhp. On a 6 bolt that is... Even at these numbers, its really the torque that dictates where the limit is.

Yea thats what I hear as well. Less timing with the nun built motors. ARP sutds and a mls headgasket should suffice with a conservative tune. Im just itching to get this build done!!
