MAX HP/TQ on 1g rods

What's the most Power anyone has taken the 1g rods too? I Have personaly seen 532hp on stock 1g rods with stock 2g pistons..I also heard about someone making 545 but blowing it up on that run... Last night I Dyno'd my car and made:

400 hp 18 psi
433 hp 21 psi
483 hp 25-26 psi (running out of injectors....)

This car will easily make over 500 if I want it too.. but I dont want to mess up an engine because of it..

This set-up has:
Ross Pistons 8.5-1
stock 1g rods
Stock head, 272's magnus intake, 3'' TB
Top Mount Custom ss manifold
T3 67 82 A/R Stg 3 Wheel
255hp
650cc injectors, s-afc, VPC
24.12.3 ic with 3in upper ic pipe

Are you talking completely stock as in rod bolts and all, did you get these bushed for the ross pistons, I am going to use the 6 bolt rod in my next project but have had them polished shotpeened and ARP bolt fitted with a resize done, my aim is is the 550 - 600 hp mark so this should be informative thread for me also. Good luck.

if your aiming for 550-600, get a set of eagles. The 1g big rods will handle ~ 500 and maybe even a little more, but i cant quote how long, and every motor is different. Staying as far away from detonation is key =P

Well I have recently heard at the DSMShootout that Rizzoti Racing made 560whp on a STOCK rotating assembly. Stock block minus balance shafts!!! That is pretty impressive. He told me he has a built 2.0 ready to go in though and he just wanted to push the envelope but isnt staying with stock to improve reliability at these power levels.

I have seen/ herd of one that made 560 whp on a AWD dyno. Bone stock with 90,000+ miles and many trips down the track. It has never been into. As stated above its all in the tuning.

I put down 488whp SAE with 1g rods. I plan for more, that was VERY conservative, 16 degrees max timing (stock) and 24psi on 110 octane pissgas.

Oh and thats with factory original rod bolts. Its a 2g piston motor as well if that matters..

All the blow ups i have seen the cap has peeled of the rod, so the weak point as i see it with the 1G rods are the bolts. I have never seen a rod snap and leave the big end still attached to the crank in one piece.
