I was checking out SBR's site and came across the Bastard 20G, this is one that I'm not farmiliar with. What kind of numbers can this turbo put down? I was considering a 50 trim, but after some thinking, I dont think thats the route I want to go with this car. So now I'm thinking of either the EvoIII 16G, or, depending on how the Bastard 20G sounds, possibly that one.

That's the thread to the SBR turbo testing thread. They are doing runs on all sorts of turbos and the next one that they are planning on running is suppose to be the bastard 20G. I am in the same boat as you though, I really want to see what that turbo can do and if it would be worth stepping up from my B16G. There hasn't been an update since Sunday though, so I don't know what the deal is. The apparently screwed up 4th gear in their test car, but have a replacement in so there should be some updates soon.

I have been following along with their testing as well. All of it is very very useful information. I'm with you, I'm quite interested in seeing what it will put down. I had my heart set of a 50 trim, but on my previous DSM I ran one. I loved the turbo, but I think with this car I'm going to go with something a little more tame.

Evo III 16G is a 42 lb/min turbo while the SBR Bastard 20G approaches 50 trim territory at 46 lb/min. Both are pretty serious but if I upgrade, I'll go with the Bastard 20G since it's real sleeper. FYI, flow info comes straight from Jon at SBR. The great thing about it is that it doesn't require an install kit if you already have a 16G variant.

Hope that helps,

Andy

Somethings not right there...Almost any turbo should be an upgrade for that T25, especially a 20g. Maybe you had boost leaks out the ass or the gaskets didn't seal right when it was installed. Crazy..

Keep this discussion focused on the product please, not the retailer or the customer service. Guys, there are reasons why we don't allow vendor complaints on our site.

For one, people take one complaint and make it sound as if what happened to them happens to the majority. No business is perfect. We understand some people get the short end of the stick every now and then and they just want to vent. Unfortunately, there are two sides to every story and in most cases, it's usually a small percentage of people who actually have a bad experience with every vendor. We have no way of actually finding out and verifying the ratio, so we choose not to get into it.

Secondly, people start spreading rumors about what they heard and the facts get lost in translation. How many times have you seen someone in a forum say something like "I've heard bad stories about their service"? Too many times we've had to delete misinformation and hearsay like this.

Thirdly, nobody here can confirm what really happened between the two parties involved, there are two sides to every story and unless you hear both sides it isn't quite fair to allow it. Not all vendors follow each post that involves their name so they can't defend themselves, nor do we want them doing this in our forums. It's not appopriate. Customer service issues should be taken up with the vendor offline. It all turns into a "he said, she said" type of argument and nothing good comes out of it for anyone. It becomes just another flamewar.

And finally, when you allow people to discuss customer service issues on a site like ours, there should be some responsiblity taken on the part of the site to verify that the claims being posted are fact. If you can't do that, you're allowing people to negatively affect a business without validation and that's dangerous. We simply don't have the resources to verify each accusation so we choose not to allow it. So, there you go. That's why we send people to our partner site Vendors-Reviewed.com where all of the vendor feedback is collected in one place. It's the right thing to do and that place collects nothing but vendor feedback. At least there, people can go through all of it and make a slightly better decision than picking up bits and pieces of things here in a forum.

So please, post your complaints on vendors-reviewed.com so that it can be filed and you don't need to say something bad every time the vendor's name comes up here in our forums. I don't even mind if you post a link to your post on vendors-reviewed.com, but it should only be done in a relevant discussion, not every time the vendors' name comes up.

If you have something to say about the product itself, please do. We encourage product discussions and feedback. And we also encourage people to post product reviews in our Tech Guide so it gets filed. We just want to avoid customer service issues. Back on topic now please. If you want to discuss this with me offline, PM me, but don't continue on about it in this thread. Thank you.

Andy, thank you for the flow rates. That was one of the main things I was interested in. Although I'm still very undecided. I've read alot of good things about the EvoIII, but haven't really heard much of anything about the 20G. I'll be interested to see what kind of numbers it puts down in SBR's testing.

We did not get finished with the bastard 6h 20g because of the tranny issue with the car, however when we at 25 PSI the bastard 20g was just over 410 WHP. At lower boost levels the turbo made similar #'s to the MHI EVO III 16g.

When the tranny is back together, we will continue the test!

You're welcome. Based on your goals, the EVO III is an excellent street/strip turbo. With a strong setup, she'll push a 2G GSX to low 12's all day. To make sure you have an even playing field, you can also look at other options like 50 trims, which excel on pump gas, and the 20G, which is a proven entity as well as the "sleeper" series turbos.

Take your time, weigh the choices against where you want to be and drop us a line if you need some help.

Throw a couple more mods and drive her well and you'll see 11's on the evo turbo. An Indianapolis local has made great accomplishments with one on his 2g awd.

Letting you know my pm box is open to any questions anyone has that aren't answered in here. I'll try to give the quickest response I can. :thumb:

I will suspend the next person that brings up customer service issues, vendor bashing or vendor praising.

None of this is allowed and I'm tired of babysitting this thread.
