For now I’m leaving my 2.0’s internals stock for the most part, rotating assembly and valvetrain springs, but have added the following upgrades, PTE 5031RE Turbo _ 3” Cat & Muffler less exhaust _ ECM Link 3 _ SBR Header _ Tial 38mm Wastegate _ Turbo XS Recirc Blow off _ 1g TB _ Waboro 225 _ FCI 850cc _ -8 AN Pump to Rail _ -6 AN Return _ Aeromotive 1000 AFPR _ AME Boost Control _ Innovate LC-1 Wideband _ FIC 850cc _ Aeromotive 1000 AFPR _ shift kit _ BSE _ HKS 264/272 _ Adjustable Cam Gears . I realize I can tune this with the ECM Link to a conservative HP level but I’d like to tune it to the maximum HP that a motor with stock internals can safely handle. I’ve read the rods and crank are good to 500HP, I couldn’t make that with this set up so my biggest concern is with the stock pistons. I’ve got the ECM link and can review the knock count but, that’s after the pistons experienced detonation and the damage may have already been done. Just looking for opinions of what’s a safe boost level, A/F and maximum HP for stock internals, reviewing the forms seems the opinion is 400, second question is do you think this set up can make 400?. It’s an automatic, I’m motivated because it’s getting warm here in Michigan and I’d like to make a few passes on test and tune night .

With 850's you will not be achieve 400hp. Even on E85 the flow rate is 38lbs. The 2g pistons can handle 400hp but i wouldn't count on the the 2g rods as there pretty weak. I know a ton a people who do the 2g pistons with 1g rod set up. 1g rods can handle up to 500+ hp.

I'm assuming you didn't read this whole post, and basically just saw what his thread said. He did do research, but is trying to clarify a right answer which i gave him. If your going to help him out try not being a smart ass about it.

I even thought they were going to be too big for the modifications I’ve made and might have some idle trouble. I’ve used a lot of the on-line injector sizing calculators and they result in 7-800cc. Here’s an example.

There 500hp kit is most likely crank hp not wheel hp. I should say you will be able to achieve 400 wheel hp, but will be a little harder on pump gas. Make sure sure you fuel pump is rewired.
 
I'm rewired, with the battery relocate, I've run a #10 to a 40Amp GM relay underbody using the Packard weather tight type connectors using the origional pump power and ground wires as the relay control.
 
usually pte measures there turbo hp at the crank. You really need to find a lbs flow rate chart for the turbo to determine how much power the turbo can make. Injector size is NOT relative to hp, it relative to the airflow of the turbo. You need to find the turbo flow, then pick an injector thats big enough to support it.

If your not running cams and or sheet-metal intake achieving 400 wheel hp on pump gas might be difficult. Not saying its not impossible to do.
 
I did the Garrett Turbo Tech 103 on a compressor map for a PTE 5031E
( internally wastgated ), I'll post it for you to look over as soon as I figure out how to post a .jpeg or picture in this form.

Thats what im running 2g pistons and my stock rods and crank. 2g's are said to be able to hold 450 but at that your not going to last long. Go to a set of 1g rods and youll be set for whatever your going to throw at it.:hellyeah:
 
2g rods are pretty weak and lot smaller in size then the 1g rods. As you can see the 1g rods are bigger in width.

Any rod could do that if you put more to them then they can handle.
